Steam just delivered an updated UPTurbinePack01Assets.ap file and ShermanHillUPTurbinePack01Scenarios.ap file.
Both are considerably smaller than the ones they replace. Wonder how that has been achieved, things have been left out or excessive bloating of resources has been eliminated?

From their Facebook page:
"We have now released an update for the Union Pacific Gas Turbine for Train Simulator 2016 that addresses a number of problems reported by our users.
In this update the following issues have been resolved:
- Couplers missing between tender and B Unit.
- Tender the wrong way around in scenarios and consist.
- Audio cutting out to quickly when moving backwards down the consist from the Turbine (Partial fix due to software limitations).
- Throttle difficult to control in 3D cab.
- Missing doppler effect due to using stereo instead of Mono sounds
This update is around 16.2mb in size and will download automatically upon the launching of Train Simulator 2016."
I tested it quickly and the sound seems to be fixed.

I am having a Steam 43,902 KB download right now! (Steam updating).
EDIT And now 3 minutes later a game download, I guess is the one mentioned.

I've no idea why it says "partial fix" - as far as I'm concerned, it fixes the problem 100%.

The Gtel audio cut-off is fixed.
It would seem the lack of doppler is also fixed.

EDIT: I verified doppler working.
But the bad news is that I had and outstanding computer crash while trying the GTEL in QD that restarted the computer (equivalent to a BSOD in the past).

I have never had this kind of crashes before with TS2015 or Ts2016.

A post in a Steam thread I opened for this subject, reports that Raildriver is working with the GTEL.

Shouldn't there be fuel and steam lines between the B-unit and the tender, like between A- and B-units?

Perhaps a nit to you, but for me an important detail that has been omitted.
Anyways, I compared the old and new GTEL, wondering why the new one is so much slimmer than the previous.
The old package had 422 MB of audio, the new one only has 220 MB. It appears the old package had lots of wagon sounds, -squeaks and wheel sounds that probably weren't used and perhaps packed by accident. (I think they also reside in the Sherman Hill audio folder for wholesale use).
There have been put in a few new turbine sounds, mostly in the mono format.
Strangely, there now reside Editor, Scenery and Weather folders in the new package, so perhaps we are in for some scripted surprises in certain scenarios/conditions? Perhaps railfan mode accessories?
The old scenario pack is puzzling me, its size is reported as 14515487 bytes while the new one measures 14516805 bytes packed into 3188239 bytes according to my 7Zip.
Somehow the old pack was bloated or Railworks currently knows how to handle compressed .ap files?

The turbine sounds used in the external view are now mono, so that the Doppler effect works with them, but the same sounds heard in cab view are still in stereo.

It's well timed that the Turbine sound fix be pulled from the File Library. It isn't needed anymore.

With a bit of ambience, ie echo. I live about 100yds from a railway crossing and the horn sound doesn't stop just dead after it has been released, always a bit of ambience with it.
