Just downloaded the route. Saw in another post that it was over 2.0Gb of data. Steam only downloaded a little over 700Mb for me. No scenarios show up, nor does the route show up in quick drive. Went to the editor to make a free roam to try everything, the route loads up fine, and from what I've seen it is very nice. However, the rolling stock shows up in the menu list, but when you attempt to place it on the track, it does not load, and eventually ends up crashing the game.
I am going to try uninstalling and reinstalling and see if that helps at all.

Steam appears to have something messed up here. Normally when you are getting a new D/L and try to start Railworks it tells you it will start as soon as the D/L is complete. It's not doing that. If you start Railworks it just stops the download. Downloading now.

The "unpacked" size is about 2gb. I'm pretty sure the download comes packed up and should run about 950mb total.

The symptoms you list indicate to me there is an issue with the secondary AP file (the one that handles licensing/ regionalization).

Unfortunately my post detailing a bit of regionalization is in the other thread (perhaps Buzz would be so kind as to move the post here?)

Click on Steam and then Library and it will show you at the bottom of the page the progress of your D/L. Wait until it's done to try to start RW. See if that works.

NVergilio wrote:Same problem here, except the cars load but have the missing textures. Also saw missing textures in a few stations so far while for a drive. Plus, when I set a 5-car consist led by an F40PH, the engine seems to be in notch 8 or something , not in idle, until I click on it then it goes back to idle, but not instantly. Hope we get a fix!

Textures will be missing at stations also based on the report of missing textures on the F40/ Metra equipment. Most if not all of the stations reference textures the same as the rolling stock.

The notch-8 issue is interesting - we implemented a HEP mode (Screamers after all) but it was scripted as an option with the default being "off" so - normal throttle audio.

Buzz's suggestion will be the solution shortly.

I'm being told the issue stems from a problem @ Steam with the distribution. It's all being sorted out now.

Unfortunately, I'm at work today (my real job) so I might not be available here immediately when the fix comes through.

!!**sorry**!!

Here is a few photos of the missing textures....... No scenarios, and the only way it shows up is if you build a "free roam" scenario. You would think that we could purchase something, and it would work right "out of the box".......

Best Regards,

I'm being told that Steam has the issues sorted out.

You should see some corrections being downloaded shortly.

I assume most of you are US customers, and seem to be affected as well by the missing textures?

So it appears the whole of the branding texture folder is missing for all of us, US or international customers. That surely must be a Steam issue, and no doubt it will get sorted soon.
I have unpacked both the route and assets .ap files and am running RW_Tools over them right now. That should provide a more complete picture/list of what is missing.

edit: Thanks Barnez for your quick actions with Steam. Will try to re-download again later.

RW_Tools reported no missing assets, that's a first! A wholy selfcontained route. Now there should be missing textures, and RW_Tools takes a while going through all the bins and geo files.

Just restarted Steam and it is downloading for Railworks again. 10.8 Mb.

Now indeed there is that special .ap pack inside Assets/Barnez/BNSFChicago folder: BNSFChicagoAssetsSystem.ap. Mine is 14671960 bytes for the international version.
Please report the file size for the US version.

And the scenarios have been delivered too. A new .ap pack BNSFChicagoScenarios.ap of 12326565 bytes.

The only missing assets will be textures that are flagged for branding.

We obviously aren't immune to issues - but I know exactly which folder contains what assets. *!!wink!!*

If I was home I could tell you exactly. The SystemAP files are very similar in size however - all they contain are texture files & I believe the manual.

ROW version also has some neutralized scenario txt I believe.

Everything appears to be in order now. Scenarios to choose and play. No more missing textures on the rolling stock, blue place holders on the cars.

He his having a small fit, stretchy couplers again ...
But those bugs are for later amending.
