Looks like DTG is making their own CSX SD80MAC. Check out the bottom of the newsletter.

They already made a SD70MAC, why do we need an 80? !*don-know!*

Because a CSX SD80Mac will probably work perfectly on the Coal District. Honestly I'm shocked it's not going to be in NS paint to completely go with the Coal District.

they are probably going to do the DLC in CSX paint to please CSX fans who are complaining that there's to much NS stuff and then they will probably release a NS and Conrail repaint on marketplace. But eyin12s is probably going to have twice as much stuff as this.

In that case, why do we need more DLCs period?

Aesthetically it's the same loco. They should have improved something that's more common and overall a better loco such as the SD70Ace or the SD70M-2 since it's a pretty old model now. I'm sure there's die hard SD80MAC fans out there that will love this, but in my opinion it's a dying loco that will soon be forgotten all together. Not to mention they have a god awful cab. **!!2cents!!**

This makes me miss how many older DLCs (Dash-9, GP9) had multiple colorschemes for the same price as a modern DLC with one livery.

I hope there will be serious sound upgrade.
Default SD70 sound is so-so, I use freeware replacement from file library

Aesthetically it's the same loco?!? !**duh*!!

The overwhelming majority of SD70MACs made (the 4000HP models) had the dynamic brake grid right behind the cab and the radiators at the back are the EMD "classic" non-flared type. The SD80MAC is 6 feet longer (to accommodate the 4 extra cylinders), the dynamic brake grid is at the very rear of the loco and the radiators are the extreme-flared style (as opposed to the moderate flared style of the SD45 and some SD70Ms). Not the same loco.

Then there's the 700HP-1000HP difference in performance on top of that and....again.... not the the same loco!

So.... bring on the SD80MAC !!! !!*ok*!!

SD80MAC vs SD70MAC with flared radiators; difference is clearly seen
