Only firm detail is it is not one of the current big 3 (UP, BNSF & Amcrash) , but interestingly enough, the designer professes an interest in the Milwaukee Road electrics and "Little Joes" I guess time will tell...

Unless it is a steam route, I'll just be waiting on the next part of my favourite NH lines

I hope its a NS or CSX route. Except for HSC (which isn't modern), all of the US freight routes are out west.

Seeing as CSX is now an official partner railroad (as evidenced in the new NY - NH route) chances are right up there...

The guy who is the subject of the article is wearing an NS shirt in his pic, so I think odds are in your favor.

I know I'm not the only one who spammed the have your say box with NS suggestions. Hopefully we'll hear something soon since we don't have anything to look forward to now that NY-NH is out.

If it's an NS route, I could see it being one of their big freight routes over the Appalachians.
Another possibility is the Florida East Coast railway. It currently has no passenger service, and would be a very interesting route.

This is interesting. Regardless of what route they do next for North America, it's getting obvious that they must skulk about here periodically.
There is a pattern to joking about "Little Joe" etc and their interests in the future for American content.... I think's...

While I think a Milwaukee route would be awesome, it makes more sense to do a NS route, since we are overflowing with available NS stock.

I still wish they would do a heavy freight steam engine for Horseshoe Curve though. (although it would have to be up to Mike Rennie's new standards)

Yeah, and with fingers pointing at the NS logo. Gee, could that be a hint?

Let's figure out what CSX route it could be. Since they only do mountain passes and city lines, I say it'll either be the B&O in the Virginia's, or the old Boston and Albany.

For CSX, Id have to say the A line is the obvious choice.

But judging by the clues, I still think it's going to be a NS route.

This is a serious question not being sarcastic. Why does it have to be up to Mike's standard? I enjoy many steamers already done by others and I seriously doubt there are many in the world much less playing with RailWorks with the time or the patience to do what Mike is doing. It has to be a total labor of love not money because as much time as he is putting into his 844 he's going to be making about fifty cents an hour even if he sells ten thousand copies which is unlikely.

Maybe not quite up to Mikes standard, but He has definitely raised the bar for Steam engines.

Also, if they really sell that few copies of DLC, how the devil does DTG stay in business?
I could be wrong, but somehow I think it will sell more than 10,000 copies.
I happen to be in the camp that believes, Mike might finally be taking the FEF-3 a little too far. I was only half joking in one of the other threads, when I said that thing will make everything else around it look bad.

That being said, He's doing a spectacular job.

That's the main advantage of working for myself - I can do what I want, as long as the end product meets RSC/DTG's standards. They don't mind if I do even more than the norm either. There's a lot more I could say on the subject, but I'd better not.

By the way, I've taken the FEF-3 further than you know - there are some secrets I'm keeping for the big day.

There is no solid proof that there will be a CSX route. Just because the guy is pictured with a shirt that says something dosent mean anything. And just because they released 2 new CSX locos (3 if you count the sd40-2) dosent help your theory either, remember the first North American DLC for RW/RS was the CN SD40-2W and yet this many years later along with many more CN DLC we still haven't gotten anything to run them on.
