One of the preserved examples has been allowed out on the UK national rail network a couple of times, albeit confined to the Looe branch in Cornwall (it had to be loco hauled there and back). The Looe branch is quite steeply graded up to 1 in 40 (2.5%) I believe on the climb from Combe Jn back up to Liskeard. So they certainly have enough power to cope with that, though I bet in the summer it gets quite toasty in the passenger saloon when the car is working hard.
Planning to do a bit of research where else they ran with a possible view to a Workshop route later in the year.

My goodness I've never had a locomotive that made me do so much for a 8 minute video. Driving backwards is hard because all you got is a bell to tell your fireman when to start, stop and brakes release. It's a crazy system I leave it at that. In terms of operation hands down its the best one yet. Pete deserves a medal for this.

Very interesting locomotive indeed! after seeing the test power assembly part of this pack it makes me want some early steam from the 1800's
