DTG now have the latest update, although I don't have an ETA for it entering the QA queue. In the meantime, I'm uploading the package to RWA. It won't have the additional cab camera view on the fireman's side of the cab (because that would entail uploading geopcdx files) but all the other goodies are in there, including the lovely black smoke:

I am happy not having to live near those tracks. My house would be flooded with soot. !*brav*! !*brav*!

EDIT: My current PC wallpaper was changed from ES44AC in Cajon to this in the Horseshoe, a couple days ago:

Mike,
I can confirm now that the Consolidation going downhill with very low regulator and reverser set at or near 75% maximum, depletes boiler water at a very fast rate. !**conf**!
If the regulator is fully closed it will not spend water, at least at that fast rate.
As I mentioned before I discovered this in the K4 some time ago.
I believe this is an issue that is certainly a core bug in the game part that deals with steam. Probably a wrong calculation formula. !!det!!

The cure? Set the reverser at low to middle settings

Yes, that tallies with what I found a while ago. It must be a core code bug (one of several).

I think I found a bug...

I noticed today that when using the custom consist builder in quick drive, there are 2 ATN Consolidation HUD locomotives. Picking through the .bin files I found that the AI locomotive had the same name as the HUD locomotive, I edited it to read Helper AI and the name changed in the custom consist builder so I can tell them apart.

I have the payware DLC and the beta update from here installed.

Well spotted! I've sent the fix to DTG to build into the release on Steam.

I noticed a similar problem some time ago when I was fixing the CSX SD80MAC couplings. I posted about this in a Steam guide.
In that case I had the FanRailer mod installed (plus my coupling fix trials) in the main folder (where the ap is located).
It would seem that the costume consist builder reads both engine.bin files, that in the ap and the other in the mod folders placed aside the ap.

The major problem here is that the consist builder does not distinguish one from the other as the names are exactly the same. It may even change the order of the two locos and you don´t know which is the modded and which the original DTG. You could have the ap version first or viceversa.
Additionally you could get two different diesels in the QD roster. To overcome the issue I would change the png image and make my testing that ended with the couplings fixed.

But the problem is still there and it will be an issue in that consist builder for other similar mods as well.
I found some references in these forums mentioning the problem, but they never seem to have been considered.

That must be a different problem. In this particular case, I'd simply forgotten to put the AI Helper name in the naming field in the engine blueprint, so it still said HUD instead of AI Helper.

It'll be available soon. I'll keep an eye on the file library too.
