but I thought Amtrak was a government body? or am I thinking of something else? and I thought governmental logos were fair play as long as not used for fraudulent purposes? but i must also admit to being an Australian and therefore being somewhat ignorant of such things

AMTRACK is a government supported private enterprise that has done nothing but lose money since its inception back in 1971.

This is a pretty interesting article if you wish to learn more about our National Passenger rail service.

There isn't a single public transportation rail system in the world that makes money. Get over it.

True.
In the Bay Area it took the State of California decades to figure out, that supporting entities like ACE, Amtrak, BART and Caltrain is far cheaper at moving commuters and to maintain, than public highways.
I can imagine it's the same along the NEC and it's branches. The Northeastern Hwy system would be a disaster without the mass transit subsidies.
New build. i7-7700k, MSI Z270 Gaming M5 Mobo, Hyper 212 Evo, Corsair DDR4 3200 Mhz RAM, Klipsch Pro Mediea 2.1 Speakers, Samsung 850 Evo SSD, HAF XM Case, Asus Strix GTX 1070 and Cooler Master Storm XT Keyboard.

Coaster: Bombardeirs and F59 and F40
Metrolink: Bombardiers and at least the F59 -- Rotem Cars Optional for now
Amtrak: NPCU, Dash 8, Horizon Cars, NEC Cars

Now now, let's not rush these guys, let 'em cool off.

And a bunch of BNSF freight...
And the light rail (or is that in the route?)

Like what BNSF cars are there not? Marias, the BNSF SD40-2, the BNSF GP38-2, and Steven's already include a ton of them, and Pacific Surfliner just takes some of the cars from Marias.

So now what? The whole model is scraped?

If they released it for free, would that mean they wouldn't have to worry about copyright issues? Then again, that's just wishful thinking. *!rolleyes!*
