think that you pay for the route, and rolling stock is a free add-on. fortunately, there's quality 3rd party stuff
VRC CSX GP40 and C30-7 look like good candidates to run on it

So it's not necessarily a route bug, it's actually a game bug.

I don't think that is true if you are running RWEnhancer. At least on my rig I am running with dynamic clouds and have never seen this.

I'm running dynamic clouds and don't have blue shadows. I did have them when I had ReShade 1.1.0f1 by crosire installed I believe it was. Once I returned to defaults I didn't have the blue.

This is unlikely unless they start taking from their TSW library and converting. Years ago, I helped several other content creators create a replacement pack of rolling stock for MSTS which replaced the default US Rolling Stock package which was just as painful to look and use back in it's day. A freeware replacement package can almost be done for TS2020 and modified / customized for any route package however we are still short a few pieces in the file library to make this possible. It is possible to make your own custom replacement packages using the available payware rolling stock out there and I have done myself for many routes over the past few years with a base package to replace the default rolling stock by way of RW Tools aka TS Tools courtesy of Mr. Simpson.

I have had the Clinchfield route for about a week now, tried several scenarios, tried the Quick Drives, and used Enhancer both on and off, and I have had no problems with this route. I find it is well worth the money if you enjoy long coal trains as that is what the route is all about, I recommend it for those who like this type of railroading. Other than that, I ignore most of he complaints about the route and DTG's abilities to make something worthwhile as I find it is all working nicely for me. Thanks for allowing me to input my two cents on this route. I recommend it.

Totally agreed.

Love the route - being across the Pond and having no first hand knowledge of the area, scenery and accuracy of what is represented (other than the MSTS Clinchfield route and Rich Garber's area associated L&N Cumberland route), it looks good and is certainly immersive. As to the stock, well DTG's home grown never ever matches providers like G-Trax etc. but at least there is something to run out of the box with. If you have the abilities, there are plenty of alternatives to directly swap out using RW Tool (now TS Tools).

At least DTG are still here and providing DLC for people to complain about - and they don't just focus on UK or European routes & stock which they could readily have done. Just consider, what if they had withdrawn licensing for all US 3rd party payware?

I know there is an objection to the "you don't need to buy" concept, but there really is no compulsion to buy and there is a totally excellent refund system available which I have used on a number of occasions - sometimes just waiting for a sale to repurchase...

It isn't "try before you buy" but is as good as. Beyond providing you with exactly what you have paid for, and as long as that has been delivered, DTG owes no-one anything (other than to their shareholders and staff) - just go for the refund. If they promised fully accurate stock, trackwork etc. etc., didn't deliver, and then refused a refund, that would be an issue.

Wait for the reviews - both route and stock.

Constructive criticism is always useful, but if your experience leads you to believe whatever DTG produces is going to be a pile of rubbish, well...

Just my 2 cents...or 2 ha'pennies

I really like the route. I’m also from ‘across the pond’ and have never had the opportunity of visiting this part of the U.S. However, based on the ‘Coal Story’ video which is centred on this stretch of the old Clinchfield, the route seems to have captured the feel and atmosphere of the place. I particularly like the ground textures and the route specific assets. I’m not too concerned about the motive power as I will run the route set in the early CSX period.

I set up a short scenario based on a CSX Nora turn from Noralla Tipple to Phillips Yard on a misty autumn morning. My only disappointment is the lack of ‘Clinchfield’ names and reporting marks on the coal hoppers but hopefully somebody will do a repaint in due course. I did try to do them myself but it wasn’t very successful!

My Clinchfield series of hoppers should be in the library by this weekend. They are based on the free 100 ton coal hopper by Jointed Rail/Searchlight Simulation cars.

Excellent! Looking forward to using these. Thank you.

Can I make a cheeky request? Any chance of a dark grey/weathered one with a CSXT reporting mark?

Thanks Buzz, that's perfect.

However, while you're in the mood ... in 1991/92, CSX still had a lot of Clinchfield hoppers with the CLINCHFIELD name on the side and CSXT reporting marks. Or am I asking for too much!

Thanks again.

Any chance you can share a picture or a link. I'd be happy to do it. These models are super friendly for re-paints.
