Thanks for your mods once again FanRailer. DTG owes you one, I probably wouldn't have bought this without your mods.

No problem.

I just discovered that by subbing in the 710 sounds from the Surfliner Pack, I have made the FL9AC sound set incompatible with the 3rd rail mode. I will be working on fixing that issue as part of the V3.0 update to the mod pack.

Will there be traction motor noises so the loco isn't silent in electric mode?

Can any of the early buyers comment on the cab and gauges?

I noticed there is a 26L brake valve. Is it set to 110 psi?
Given the still unresolved problems with the F59PH locos in push-pull operation with regard to brake action and stuck gauges, is the FL9 also affected?

Comments please, for I am reluctant to pay full price for a product that is broken.

There are traction motor sounds. The pitch change for them are just not coded very well. I'm thinking about fixing those as well.

Yes. It IS set to 110 PSI, but for some reason, the brake cylinder pressure was originally set to 100 PSI instead of 65 PSI. I have fixed the pressures in the mod I released, but the locomotive DOES suffer from the same issues (stuck gauges in the driving cab, but not the trailing cab, for some reason) that the F59PH DLCs suffer from. That fix will come as part of the V3.0 update to my mod pack, which is currently in V2.0. May be about another few weeks before JohnS can get around to it.

Does it have track rolling sound? Maybe the traction motor and axle roll sound can be combined for the better sense of movement.

When it comes to sound and vision, would it be possible to give the loco pickup shoe flashes?
I imagine with its short distance between front and rear pickups (were there even 2 pickups on each side?), there was lots of flashing and arcing when the loco accelerated out of GCT through that complicated throat trackwork. Circuit breaks under 600V at a couple of hundred amps give loud cracks and bright green coloured flashes. Any subway user will know what I mean. *!lol!*

It is certainly possible. They have the arc feature on the ACS-64.

I suppose that's also good news for those who were hoping to run this on the VNHRR.

Speaking of which, how would one go about removing the ditch lights?

Back up first (you know that but I can't say it often enough) if you use RWTools for your changes you don't need to do that since it makes a backup automatically, then just go into the bin file and find where it puts the ditch lights (two entries) and take those lines of code out and the ditch lights should disappear.

Sorry to bump this old thread. I searched for FL9 and Sound and this was what was found.

I have been using the FL9 on the VNHRR which I got in the sale but after using the loco for about 20 mins the sounds have gone strange.
There is engine noise as the loco is powered up between notches but the sound of the loco under power and idling seems to have gone.

I have Fanrailers Mod installed as it gave me the Hancock Air Chime.

Anyone else had this problem

Thanks

Peter

Easy thing to try first is reinstall the mod pack first. Those sounds are controlled by engine RPM.

That was a good suggestion John.

I re downloaded the pack, did the next part of the scenario and the loco worked just fine.
