I forgot, because I replaced standard Dash 9 sound with the one from file library quite ago.
So, for me it's a kind of "new" sound

The original Dash 9 sounds aren't bad - weren't they made by Oovee?

We sent them good sounds back in the day, RSC destroyed them like they did the 80MAC.

How did they "destroy" them (for both packs)?

Both sound nothing like intended. I'll post a video of the 80MAC later.

My 2 sense.

Can't stand that horn.
Bell is wrong
Sounds have bass but are weak imho.
Advertised with flashing ditch lights...doesn't have them

At this day in age I feel like they just put out the visual aspects of the product and expect you to make the sound changes yourself.

Would only buy this if it was 75% off..

DTG recycles more than my school....

Most of the LUA code is copied and pasted from the sd80mac, they didn't even change the quick drive name of the D8, it will say sd80mac in the "9" view.

I just saw the same reported somewhere else. I think DTG have lost their way. Not so much because they're consistent in the lack of pride and quality of their work, but because they no longer seem to address the issues or concerns. Clearly they don't place an importance on testing or quality control. They're probably growing faster than they expected and they're having trouble hiring people who are knowledgeable in both game production and railroading. I'm guessing at some point they'll pass their peak when these sorts of problems start to catch up with them. What started out as custom, detail-oriented products has become an assembly line of sorts, recycling flaws from one unit to the next with no time to stop the process to retool and adjust or listen to customer concerns. It's sad, I hate to see this sort of thing from a company that had so much passion and and promise just a few years ago.

Maybe with enough bitching and moaning in the right place they will start to pay attention. I know I have stopped just mindlessly downloading everything that comes along.

I'm right there with ya - and from the ugly atmosphere on their facebook page, it seems like this is becoming more the norm than the exception. Some people suggest that more people are 'casual' gamers and don't care about such detail, but from my time in model railroad clubs (and here!), I'm not sure it works that way with railfans. Most of us are pretty passionate about little things.

I can cope with sounds and horns that I don't like because it's not that hard to fix but when you can't get a snow plow on the right end of the locomotive and then don't fix it you have exceeded my tolerance factor. My revolution is just quietly keeping my wallet zipped up.

I've been watching this release to see what DTG has done with this locomotive. I was being optimistic about the release until people starting posting glaring issues. It doesn't surpise me, my last purchase for this game was the NS coal route and the GP38. I was very disappointed with the rolling stock included and basically put down the game. I know longer want to put money into this game when the Devs don't care about the details, in a simulator the details are extremely important. I have moved back to FSX where the third party developers actually care and communicate(they actually follow the big forums to seek out issues and criticism for them to fix unlike DTG), I am willing to pay top dollar for quality. I am honestly afraid of their purchase of FSX rights, very afraid, after what I have experienced in this game I will advise other "pilots" to tread carefully with DTG.

As much as I agree with you, it dawned on me a few months ago that I don't have to put more money in this game to enjoy it.
I have enough routes, scenarios, engines and rolling stock for years. And then there's European content.
So why quit and go back to FSX? Just use what you have.

Guys, how do you like the physics?

I think there is something improved :
-no jerking motion of the train, when moving throttle from 0 to idle, or from setup (dyn brake) to off.
- no derailments due to uneven or excessive braking with dynamic brake (on this loco it is very smooth)
both issues was big nuisance for me
-loco's independent brake works. on some previous locos it had very little (or no) effect, almost impossible to stop with
