!!*ok*!!

Make sure you get the upgrade from the File Library here.

I will certainly do and also some of the many nice repaints of this great site.
But I am still somewhat lost with the FEF-3. Its a matter of taking the time.
So many DLC and not that much time to play.

Thanks very much Grant :D

I'll release updated repaints once the Connie update is live on Steam (otherwise the installation gets messy).

I'm also doing various improvements to the FEF-3. It'll have the most advanced air brakes ever seen in TS, the same as in the upgraded Connie (which are based on what I did for Soldier Summit and TS2016, adapted to the 6-ET stand) but with the 8-ET safety systems linked to the alerter and Mars light (as currently). The stack smoke will be much more realistic (and the particle emitters will all be modified so that they won't suffer from the "wind bug"). The feedwater pump gauge will work much more prototypically (thanks to an FEF-3 engineer who showed me how they really work). The needle will pulsate in time with the piston strokes of the feedwater pump itself. There'll be many more improvements in the cab to give extra realism too.

good to know Mike about the FEF3
What I didn´t realize is that the locomotives in Soldier Summit had been upgraded by TS2016 or is it just the release SS?

I meant SS in TS2015 and the SH locos (including GTEL) in TS2016.

Looks great Mike! The smoke from most of the Train Simulator content has always been quite a disappointment, but this looks fantastic!

!*drool*!
That looks amazing. I agree with savv_nz, steam loco exhaust has been a great disapointment , but now we are getting somewhere...

So this will be a tweak to the tweak? The FEF looks stunning too, but mine never gets a run. The Connie on the other hand is my loco of choice for the VNHRR and it is about all I am skilled enough to handle, and even then not too well !*roll-laugh*!

Thanks Mike. Maybe its possible to use the same calculations to do something for the 4000 & 3900's - I know they are not yours, but they are anaemic...

Yes, a tweak to the tweak (although before I do that, there's one more thing I want to fix first - the whistle cord so that it goes back up on its own).

My new smoke emitter could be used on any loco, but for the best effect it also would need the special LUA routine I wrote for it, otherwise it looks a bit strange.
