And I use it on bigger routes like Stevens pass because it crashes but on routes like Sherman hill it works fine. But let us try not to go off topic.

The Jupiter Locomotive at Promontory is oil fired, not prototypical to the original locomotive, therefore ,mike, should make her scripted as a wood burner, not an oil burner diguised as a wood burner !!howdy!!

Ah, I thought so! The drawings show an oil burner located in the ash pan and a tank hidden in the tender. Curiously though, in photos I've seen of Jupiter's cab, I can't find the firing handle (oil regulator), whereas in photos of Leviathan (built, by David Kloke's company, using the same plans) the firing handle is in plain sight to the left of the throttle. That had me puzzled.

Funny thing is, they had enough money two build 2 locomotives, and yet they said it would cost to much for them to burn wood **!!2cents!!** !*roll-laugh*!

Because you don't see a wood burning loco everyday. Plus oil is cheaper and wood kills trees. !*roll-laugh*!

heres how the jupiter looked when originally delivered to the golden spike site. Note different pilot, cab, steam dome, sand dome, and headlight. the paint scheme was also different.

ps: hey Mike, although not prototypical, you should also make one with a standard US coupler(just on back of tender, keep the one on the pilot), not just a link and pin version (you would probably sell more copies, as it would appeal to more people.)Image
