Holy crap, the snow textures came back.

Come on, Kid, this route obviously represents the Summit in Clean Land. Look beyond the engines: roads, other vehicles, snow, buildings: all scrubbed to within the proverbial inch of their life. One thing no train simulator gives us is good, old-fashioned, realistic d-i-r-t.

Then again, maybe I just have dirt on my mind today after power-washing my driveway yesterday. !*YAAA*! !*roll-laugh*! !*don-know!*

This route looks really nice i might actually buy it or maybe I can win it from one of Dovetail's Preview Streams. I'm sure they will end up previewing this Route.

That highway texture is much more realistic. DTG or whoever is making this route is working with a substantially new palette, it seems, and the results are very impressive. I think this will be an immediate buy.

The latest releases, which seems to cover this one as well, is a total 180° flip from what was previously released.

Edit* just to clarify that, better physics, modeling, usable doors and windows, somewhat better sounds instead of reused ones and most importantly they've been releaseing fixes for some things.

The use of recycled stock like this disgusts me. Again, out goes $20 for another engine required for workshop compatibility and the use of workshop scenarios. I would rather have the old California Zephyr F40PH be packaged as part of the Steam Sub for Soldier Summit and have the existing one be updated to TS2015 standards. The way that's packaged is similar to how the ICE-2 comes with the Hamburg-Hannover DLC.

On the other hand, this is very promising...

I viewed things that way too at first, but then what's the point of whining about the stock when the route itself looks so nice? Does nobody really care about the effort put into scenery? The included locomotives don't look bad either.

^ I am certainly impressed with the route itself. The scenery is breathtaking and would be enjoyable to run through. I do have no problem with the recycled GP9 on the plus side.

Other than that are we actually sure that all rolling stock shown in the screenshots is actually included with the route?

Just want to add a note about the potential freight rolling stock, identified in the unsigned preview at Engine Driver as, "a selection of era-appropriate freight rolling stock, including a D&RGW caboose". When plugged into my RSCBlather to English translator, this comes out as "one repaint and a lot of other stuff we've already sold you with previous DLC packs".

I may be wrong, of course, and indeed hope to be so, but RSC has done little in recent years to lead me to expect anything else.

!!jabber!!

Ps: Alex's freeware version is tempting, but there I'm a bit discouraged by the required download from UKTS where, not currently being a member, I'd have to wait in line quite a while. Oh, the woes of the retired! !!jabber!! !!jabber!! !!jabber!!
