I'm not usually a price whiner, but have to say that it's odd to see this Seaboard pack costing $24.99 whereas the F40PLH-2 with a whole set of passenger coaches is available for $12.99. What actually irritates me, though is that DTGRSCetc has not made the users' manual available for pre-purchase perusal.* Almost all of their store pages used to include a link to the manual (although, being honest, very few of those links ever produced more than a tiny spinning propeller icon); now some products do and some don't. What are they ashamed of?

Before shelling out 25 bucks (and there's another pet peeve: subtracting one penny from every price and expecting buyers not to notice that 99 cents and a dollar are the same thing in the long run), I'd like to know what special features this loco has that supposedly make it worth nearly double the cost of the average loco + cars DLC. Another "working" toilet, perhaps???

Oldprof if you look back in this thread a few pages there is a manual available at DTGs website. I'll see if I can find the correct thread page for you!

Dash 9 sounds? And they're charging $25? *!mad!*

At least there are other U-Boat / Dash 7 sounds out there.

When I first saw this I definitely expected recycled Dash 9/Kuju ES44 sounds and the price to be $19.99.

How do you know they are dash9 sounds? Do you know something the rest of us don't know?

ES44AC sounds actually.

Figures. No big deal, IMO. Going to start the physics mod soon.

Can you do a sound-mod as well that takes the engine sounds from the freeware C36-7i?

So, Buzz, it's okay to gritch about sounds, lights, this that and every other thing except price? As I thought I had made clear my desire to know whether this engine came with special features that justified its unusually high cost. I reserve the right to gritch about what I want to!

With what? The don't buy it or the worthless post bitching about the price? I'd like to own a Lamborghini and am really unhappy about the cost. I think it's too high and they should lower it. So there.

Funny thing is a message board, you don't have any "rights" the admin can kick you for whatever reason they like and also prevent you from saying certain things at any point. Most people on here are just lucky the admins are much nicer than other boards I am a part of.

Back on topic though, I personally shelled out the the money for the entire Miami set included the U-boat and new passenger train. I have just started to dig into the U-boat a little by hopping around the cab to see what goodies are included. Some things I have picked up are opening windows/doors, movable sunscreens, individually controlled wipers (can be moved using handle), gyra light, and dash lights to signify something is on or off. Sounds aren't the best but will be fixed by others soon enough. I'm actually impressed so far with DTG. I'll start a review in the appropriate section later tonight once I get a better look.

These are definitively not the ES44 sounds. And the hopper car sounds are a light year ahead of anything they have done before. And the caboose has a TAIL LIGHT!

And the air gauge in the caboose goes up and down.
