How do you get the observation car view? When I push the five (5) button I get some sort of mid train head out view.

Use the F4 HUD's arrows to go forward and back in the train.

After pressing 5, press Ctrl and the left and right arror keys at the same time to move to the car you want. Only the rear observation car and dome cars have passenger views.

I had set Steam to verify the files when I hit the sack last night after work since I didn't see the Empire Builder in my list after downloading (that was prior to coming here to see if others were having issues). After re-acquiring some 400 files Empire Builder shows up in my collection. I ran the intro scenario a few minutes ago; what a lovely machine and the passenger cars are beautiful...that bottle of scotch was almost calling to me lol. Need a Famous Grouse repaint . I did notice a massive speed bleed-off on 0-0% track so there was a lot of fiddling with the throttle (a way to keep the driver interacting with the sim on long hauls? !!jabber!! ). I do want to reiterate my thanks to whomever at RSC had the insight to include cab lighting **!!bow!!** !*cheers*!

One thing I discovered right away is unlike previous stuff you want the brakes set to zero if you want them fully released.

Indeed, the Great Northern F7 Empire Builder shows up in the Collection now.

About the physics I think they are more realistic, a step in the right direction. Not everything is instantaneous anymore, charging the train line for instance takes time.
About the sound, well perhaps some people like quiet running trains. Driving a two hour scenario with a loud train at 100% volume is tiring and gets boring as well.

I think the consensus so far is that we are pleasantly surprised by this surprise release from RSC. Keep it up, guys, and bring us things we want to buy! Best to poll and ask us beforehand though, to avoid white elephants and commercial sinkholes.

This is good stuff. It really goes with the Maria's Pass route. If they put out named train like the Crescent Limited where there is no route to use it on it would probably bomb. More routes! More named trains! Yeah.

Was this DLC done by RSC or by a partner?

It was made partially by RSC and Mannu Pach according to the manual I believe. The F7s hail from RS days, but the MARS and such are new.

Exactly my thoughts.
But which trains ran over which route?
Cajon Pass with the Super Chief and El Capitan?
Sherman Hill with the City of .. and Overland Limited?
Donner Pass with City of SF, Shasta Daylight, Overland Limited (at least in MSTS)
NEC with Broadway Limited, Horseshoe Curve as well.

SP ran ALCo PA units, UP ran EMD E units, both of which are unavailable from RSC. 3DTrains has a excellent ALCo PA in MSTS though.
PRR ran ALCo's DL109 and PA's, EMD's, Baldwin Babyfaces and Sharks, besides GG1's.

If the Empire Builders turns a profit for RSC they might consider releasing more famous name trains from the past.

Many folks had a hand in this pack.
I even did some work on it!
However, with my work name being 'Teflon Del' it comes as no surprise I did not finish what I started.

I definitely haven't even had time (lots going on in life right now) to play with all the goodies I bought during the sale, but I just bought this.

I love Marias Pass and this seems like a must-have, no matter whether you're driving it, or see it running by while pulling freight up the grade. Play time tonight!

Thanks Derek, RSC, and anybody else involved in making the model!

Now, about that GP9 headlight (and all the GP9s for that matter!). Can't we get an official RSC update for that? **!!bow!!**

(Of course, I don't truly expect it for free. I got what I paid for and I like the GP9s as is.) !!howdy!!

I just got that error as well. Used the Empire Builder, some Geeps from the Geep pak and Castle Rock (haven't ran anything on that route for awhile so I thought I'd revisit it). Not sure why the 3rd Party error-- nothing modded.
