Aside from the missing rear ditch lights and a few cosmetic/sound errors that could easily be fixed by the community, I'd have to say the GP38-2 is still worth the $20. I'm very happy to be driving the first locomotive I drove in MSTS, and on the first route I drove it on. :D

You know the rivet counters would poke around until they found something to complain about.

I think RSC is getting better, the dynamic brakes on the GP38-2 is way more prototypical than it has been on other locomotives in the past.

So many variations of GP38-2

There are. You kind of pick your poison about a lot of things as far as configs and different paint schemes.

Hence why I was hoping the BN would be "bare bones" no ditchlights. This way I can just slap on some parts to make all the variants.

Have you even looked at it to see if they are child objects so you could remove them?

I wonder if we can add the RCL Stuff to one like the GP15?

RSC aren't doing so badly - after all, they are a United Kingdom based company rolling out US stock and routes to an ever higher standard. No, not every variation of a GP38-2 has been provided, but go and have a look at MSTS payware engines, and calculate up the number of years it has taken to get the large variation in models now available.

It would be good to have a few more US developers throwing their hats into the ring and producing quality US stock. I haven't seen many so far...Marc, Ian...a few more in the pipeline, but not in any quantity.

I echo the comment above - I wouldn't have believed how nostalgic a trip it would be driving a Geep 38-2 on the Marias Pass - takes me right back to the early days of MSTS.

Pretty good sounds compared with what I have been able to find on line, not all the variations, but good enough (rivet counting aside). Excellent work all round.
