Nothing yet. But as soon as they spill the beans, you'll hear about it here! I'd bet money that the next route will either be Norfolk Southern or Amtrak. Maybe both. *!!wink!!*

the LIRR out of Penn Station would be sweet! Its a historical RR whose name has never changed in over 175 years. It also runs freight under the NY&Atlantic name. And im quite sure that the MTA (the operator) would have no issues licencing the cars, name and logos for it. They are always crying broke and have lots of licensed merchandise out there.

I vote for the line from Bloomington Illinois to Saint Louis Missouri. UP, CN, NS, CSX, Amtrak, and BNSF + many shortlines on it. We could have all we want on it xD

Seeing that RSC is in love with California perhaps they are planning to give us the Amtrak Surfliner. Producing the 350 mile route in its entirety would be nice but impractical. That being said, producing the 128 miles from Los Angeles to San Diego could be a winner to RSC's check book as long as the proper rolling stock was included in the production.

A few fallen flags would be nice. I am always for a Bessemer and Lake Erie route but if for Texas route, MKT or Mo-Pac would be nice.

I'm betting RSC goes with the Mojave Sub from Bakersfield to Barstow. After all, they already have both motive power and stock for BNSF, SP & UP. I can even foresee them including the line down to Palmdale and maybe even a little bit of Soladad Canyon, and if they include part of the SJVRR and the trackage at the Mojave Airport it would add more switching (shunting) than is available on Marias Pass. Just thinking.

I would love to see a Pacific Surfliner route! As much as I love freight, there aren't any real US passenger routes other than the NEC. A LIRR or Metro North route would be great too. As for fallen flags, I know it is probably not going to happen but Conrail would be a must buy for me.

P32AC-DM's and DE30AC's(/DM), I like that idea! I think the P32AC-DM is a unique locomotive. It practically sounds like an ES44 (kinda) and they do up to 110mph on the empire corridor. If there is another freight road, esp one of BNSF or UP, I'm not buying. It's time for something new. And how many users do they even have from the West? I'd think the Eastern user base would be far higher. We've conquered the West, time to revisit the East. !!*ok*!!

I hope Michael Stephan's transition era New Haven route is the next to hit the market. Mike Rennie's Consolidation will look great (I know its not proto, but its steam) on transfer freights and with dual turntable / roundhouse facilities and multi platform passenger stations, I think this one will be a winner !*brav*!

Modern US routes are soul less - it really is just hook and pull. Gone are the days of interesting operations, where adjacent business' had rail access. Marias Pass looks nice (in fact I am heading there as well as the Montana Rail Link in September before a 4 day steam charter on the C&TS) so I don't mind US boxes, but in a sim sense they are dull.

More steam routes, more steam !!*ok*!!

**!!2cents!!**

Well, it's one for the money,
Two for the show,
Three to get ready,
Now go, steam, go.

Well I do still have my soft spot for the transition era and steam, I cant agree with your statement 100% about modern routes. you just aren't looking at them hard enough, you need to understand the story behind what you are looking at and see a meaning to things then you will see the life in it. modern routes should be more than just hook'n book and they are to me. Although what makes a modern line very interesting are all the industry's and little branchlines that give the mainline its life. It still exists today but it is a lot harder to find.

I would love to see this route brought into Train Simulator 2013 but it would mean creating at least three new train sets (Amtrak Surfliner, Los Angeles Metrolink and San Diego Coaster). There is heavy BNSF freight traffic as well as many rail served industrial sites along the Los Angeles and Orange Countys porttion of the route and would make just about everyone happy.

donjgatlin wrote:Enough with the slow trains in the mountains. I vote for CSX's A-Line. At least you can do 70 with intermodals and 79 with Amtrak there. *!lol!* There is a lot of history with this line from Florida to the Northeast. How about Folkston Funnel?
