I see it as a method of generating cash flow so that other projects that users may want can be funded. I have bought stuff and never run it (latest Big Boy for one). $30 seems high, but compare it to a physical model - the latest publication here lists an advert for South Australian Railways small single axle and dual bogie HO scale gondolas. A 3 model set of the single axle gon will set you back $99 and a 2 model set of the dual bogie gons is $119. So, by the time you purchase a loco (even a diesel) at $200+ and then a decent string of these grain and goods gons, there is no change from $800+
I have taken the mantra of "do it yourself" to heart and enrolled in an extensive 3 month Photoshop course to learn to do re-skins. It gives me what I want and I can give back. (just hope I can live up to my own expectations

What is the expression - "you can not please all of the people all of the time" just as long as they can please most of the people most of the time, all will be good, even if there is still the odd squeaking wheel
