Not to be 'that guy' , as I too would love to see a longer route, but adding the extra 149 miles to the route that you have asked for, would easily add 6 months to a year to the development time. The portion modeled here is only ~80 miles to begin with.

Also it doesn't connect in Reno but Fernley Nv. Used to connect I should say.
That connection was actually a SP line from Fernley to the Pacific Northwest.

This is NOT a complaint, more an exclaimed air of disapointment that it is another modern traction route, and before anybody bleats about vintage diesels etc, it is still modern traction if it is not steam *!sad!*

!*cheers*!

They could at least add 40 miles of track from Keddie Wye to Portola. But no they can't just shows that DTG doesn't care about us and don't know anything about us at all.

Looking very forward to this route.

Watch the tone. While at times (most of the time) I concur with that assesment, DTG does what is best for the business, to stay in business. Wouldn't like to see it go the way MSTS did, would you? Want to end up with the only options for railroad-type games in the US being a model railroad game or a locked-development sumulator? Or, maybe DTG could simply shut it's doors to U.S. routes and rolling stock. I'm sure that we are probably only 10-20% of their sales, so be happy that we are getting anything at all.

That Fernley line isn´t there anymore.
There is a branch line that joins Reno Junction to Reno itself, with a lot of spurs and a small yard north of Reno.

But it is Winnemucca, NV the place were the main lines connect, much more further into the dessert.
We are talking of a very long route. :D

That comment was in there because I put it there. If you don't clean up your act your posts will start disappearing and then..........
Come on we don't need bashing of DTG. Go post crabby comments over on that other forum where they enjoy it.

Yes it should go to Portola. In fact that line should go a bit farther up to the interchange with SP really.
That's odd indeed.

As far as complaining. How would you smarty pants back east feel if Horseshoe Curve was only built from Altoona to Galitzen??? Because that's essentially whats going on with Feather River. !!bang!!

Funny you mention Horseshoe because I always thought that Johnstown was a poor place to end it. I felt that going all the way to Conway would round off that route nicely !!*ok*!!

Back on topic, I'm looking forward to this route whether its "finished" all the way to Portola or not. I think a lot of people have been waiting years to see this route done, and in the end they'll be happy no matter where it starts/ends.

I'm a sucker for eye candy and this route looks really nice. Not mention the rolling stock, that Western Pacific livery is beautiful on that U-Boat!

The reason we bash on DTG is because they often fail to meet community expectations. Poor sounds, physics, scripts, inaccuracies, you name it.

For me it's not a matter of openly bashing them. There's a lot of people who need to learn criticism versus whining.
The other half of you need to learn to speak with your wallet and not buy something you feel is inadequate from them because God and everyone here knows that the ones that do listen here from Dovetail get trounced in the decision making process at the Studio that they founded. As Jerry said, to the pencil pushers and round table group at the tower, the DLC is solely a means of keeping the lights on. Even PJ said he doesn't care for his game to be a serious simulation of any sort.

TL;DR: Open Critique is healthy for the community, as much as Buzz hates it. :D
Don't waste your money if it doesn't meet your expectations because you know the U boat will come with some sound library of theirs and the route isn't long enough and there's no steam engines (lol).

Okay, this is what I'm familiar with.
I didn't know about the other line to Reno as well as Fernley NV.
