I am following your 4-8-4 developments closely. Would it be possible to have and "accessory pack" with maybe an Elesco feed water heater option or double flying air compressors for the smoke box front option? I am thinking in terms of the Chesapeake and Ohio "Super Power Look" for a sister Lima locomotive.

That's something I was in fact considering - a kit of optional parts to be added as child objects. I was also thinking of an option to have the cab without the modern day equipment. I'll have to study the plans carefully to see where I could make these things fit in correctly.

I am a little confused, as the C&O never had smokebox mounted cross compounds, or Elesco feedwater heaters. Not to mention a radically different cab, smokebox door, much smaller drivers, and completely different tender.

I beg to differ...C&O had several Classes with Elesco Feed Water Heaters and Flying Cross Compounds. I may have been confused about the "Greenbrier" Northern 4-8-4 (I blame that on Ol' Fart gray matter between the ears) but see for your self. The front ends of these locos are classic Chesapeake and Ohio style...

I could find more but these are a good representative sample...I have been told that the compressors were mounted on the smoke box because of tight Alleghany Mountains tunnel clearances. As for the Tenders, they can be swapped out for more prototypical ones from other assets.

To be able to do that, either I'd have to use a "standard" engine-tender coupling, if there is such a thing, instead of my own custom made one (the one I made for the Connie, so that it wouldn't depend on anything from Kuju), or the other tender's blueprint would have to be modified to use mine. I'll have a look at some other steam locos to see what they use.

Hi Mike...

The only place I could find for fonts is www.railfonts.com I am pretty sure each of the font sets includes both letters and numerals (although I could be wrong) - would pay to drop Daniel a note and just ask. (I will PM you his email address) I do think though that if somebody has asked for something special, they could at least donate to you the font set so you can do it for them. Just my thoughts...

Here's another Rail Font logos. Good for repaints.

B&LE looks close enough for Rio Grande numbering.

Not such a bad thought really ... I can't afford to spend any more money on fonts right now.
