ok people models can move their arms in this game, and arms fold as in looking at a watch, so there is a way to do this with an animation, I just don't know how. maybe one of the guys from RSC can give us a little nugget of info on how the animation of peoples arms were done and then we can have flex piping too.

Animated people can be done using "bones" in 3DCrafter, but the pipe is a different story. It's not like a free-standing human figure - the complication is the thing about the ends being fixed and the middle needing to pivot about a precise point as the loco negotiates a curve. Anyway, I'm sure it can be done, I just have to tinker with it a bit (I'll do that later on, when the tender is ready).

Thanks :D

There's still a lot to do. I work on it almost every day, but it's probably not going to be ready in time for Christmas. My guess is January or February.

yes !!*ok*!!

Will blowing down affect the water level in the boiler?

I don't think there's any way to simulate that, as there's no function available to the LUA to change the water level, only to read it, as far as I know.

Well than I guess I have some time to study up on my steam driving skills! All tho it seems like a long ways away I will be eagerly anticipating it! !*hp*!
At any rate I know of 1 steam locomotive that needs driving on the various routes. It demands constant attention to water levels and coal levels. Although not a screamin' fast locomotive, givin the right level of care, she will deliver! *!!wink!!*

FEF's during trials hit 110 MPH.....only because the mechanic on board refused to let the engineer go any faster

She could do more I bet.

I think blowing down the boiler is for foam reduction. I don't think it would affect the water level, but would cause a steam pressure drop.

But in this case, it'll make the foam levels increase! *!lol!*

Im not sure what 'foam' is. I have known it to be for ridding the sediment that may develop on the bottom of the boiler. If anything I cant imagine that it would drastically change the water level. Or the pressure a whole lot either. But hay im just an amateur here !*lho*! .

Yes it does. Drastically.

It however does not cause a pressure drop.

I've just realised how I can simulate that ... it's fairly easy, in expert mode anyway. All I need to know is by how much the water level should go down per minute (or second).
