Also, if you guys want some more realistic looking couplers with airhoses, try taking the couplers from Golden Age of Railroading rolling stock and applying them to the Marias Pass rolling stock and locomotives (I think this will also fix the no couplers bug some people are getting):

Gotta admit, I am a little disappointed there are no AI in the quickdrive scenarios for the route. (at least not when using the ES44DC)

I can do that or I can use Blogspot for $10 a year. Thanks Bob.

Nothing big, I also noticed a funny error in their engineer training scenarios:

"The bottom brake mode sets up the dynamic brakes. This turns the brakes into generators causing additional resistance helping slow the train."

I think they mean it turns the traction motors into generators.

I know, I'm just nitpicking right now !*hp*!

ATSF

Do you know if the new 'Dynamic Brake' simulation we are seeing in the Marias Pass BNSF SD40-2 has been applied across the boards to all the other RSC Railworks4 road diesels?

And would you mind sharing your technique for borrowing the GAoR couplers for the new rolling stock?

Thanks Derek! I 'll be downloading the route as soon as I get home tonight. I'm at work now and loving the screenshots to hold me over. Great looking work RSC team!! !*salute*!

I'm very eager to get home and give it a go. !*YAAA*!

I haven't tried other locomotives out yet, but my guess is probably no.

1. Open one of the GAoR coupling folders like this one:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\GreatNortherner\Allegheny\RailVehicles\Coupler

2. Copy all the files out of the folder. Don't forget the texture file located here:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\GreatNortherner\Allegheny\RailVehicles\Coupler\textures

3. Now the files all have different names than the RSC couplers so they need to be renamed appropriately. So take:

coupler_ms.bin
coupler_ms_closed.GeoPcDx
coupler_ms_open.GeoPcDx

And rename them as:

buckeye_type_e_coupling.bin
buckeye_type-e_coupled.GeoPcDx
buckeye_type-e_uncoupled.GeoPcDx

Again don't forget the texture file:

coupler.TgPcDx

Rename it as:

buckeye_type-e.TgPcDx

4. Now open the coupler folder for Marias Pass located here:

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\MariasPass\RailVehicles\Couplings\Buckeye\Type-E

Take the three files you renamed:

buckeye_type_e_coupling.bin
buckeye_type-e_coupled.GeoPcDx
buckeye_type-e_uncoupled.GeoPcDx

And drop them in that folder. When asked if you want to overwrite files, say yes.

5. Then open the texture folder located here

Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\railworks\Assets\RSC\MariasPass\RailVehicles\Couplings\Buckeye\Type-E\Textures

And take the texture file you renamed:

buckeye_type-e.TgPcDx

And drop it in that folder. When asked if you want to overwrite files, say yes.

And that's it! You can also do this to replace the couplers for the new SD40-2s.

also a good note, the first tunnel on the west end of the route is missing the tunnel hole decals.

I'm pretty sure you'll find it's only on the 'Marias Pass' locos. I don't know how you're finding it but I've had to completely change my driving technique because of it. !*hp*!

The tunnel hole decals aren't missing. This is one of the more obvious signs of the 'route not bothering to load properly' bug. Bet you five shillings the hole will be there next time you load the route up. !!*ok*!!

Excellent, thank you so very much for taking the time to write it all down, we can all do it quickly and easily now, especially, those of us who haven't obtained the route just yet and we can come on here and do any amendments before we run the game and get loads of SBHH's.

I wish there were more folks like you around when it comes to taking the time to explain things to community members. !*salute*! *!!thnx!!*

I can't wait to give this a shot tonight. I spend way too much on this game lol, but I couldn't say no to Marias. I loved it in MTS.
