If memory serves me and per chats with Jasina it seems there was the original Big boy and one updated by DTG in 2017. There were numerous upgrades available for the original but some of the updates did not work well with the latter. Some were physics, sounds, particles. I do not know if the Wasatch Big Boy changed either one of these previous editions. But if you are going to install Wasatch I would backup your current working Big Boy first. Curious to know if the latest and greatest more real-sounding whistle from buzz works with the current rendition.

It doesn't make any difference because toy can't find the rope to blow the whistle in the dark. !*roll-laugh*! !*roll-laugh*!

Turn the cab light on then. Yes, I believe it has one.

It has one but it's still stupidly dark.

A question. Is the Wasacht Big Boy re-writing the standalone BB we all of us have?

I still have the 2017 version (2nd DTG ver. not including the old IHH), but with a lot of edition work in the physics using code from the two David Whiting (dtrainBNSF1) upgrades (which were not directly compatible with that 2nd ver.) plus a few particles additions, taken from the Berkshire if I remember well (copyright on those was the reason I never published my version of the BB). The physics looks good in Sherman Hill with no problems whatsoever with water depletion. The relief valves open too frequently, but it is OK (doesn´t feel bad). The extra particles emissions makes the loco look much better, visually speaking.
The cab has always been dark but not as you describe it. The whistle is close to the real one, taken from the RWA library.

The loco looks dark as always has been in TS with blacks and dark shades. The picture is taken in TS2020 with "ambien light intensity" to max. The cab still looks dark but not as much as you guys describe it in this thread.

The original Challenger was always pretty good adding David Whiting´s upgrade located here.

PS What I can see from different pictures is that the Wasacht Big Boy external textures seems to look much better than the original BB. (see that I can say much about them because I have not purchased the Wasacht).

Appears to have been rushed through QA. Could have been a good route, without the signal issues.
Seems like they "reworked" the big boy for this route, similar to how they did the P42 for the miami route. Could that have something to do with it?

Has anyone figured out how to keep the BB from running out of water in ten minutes or so?

You can edit the steam usage rate and a bunch of other things. I did something like that on the cab forward ages ago tinkering with the engine bin but can't remember exactly how.
I would fumble around with it on the big boy but I returned this garbage. There comes a point in time when you have to stop paying money and have to fix mistakes.

You don't have too just keep filling the boiler from about 50%. Buzz I have some screenshots of in cab and outside views but they are not black like yours.

It may be in the simulation.bin
Something like this one:
Code: Select all
<PrimingWaterUsageIncreaseProportion d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000000000D03F" d:precision="string">0.25</PrimingWaterUsageIncreaseProportion>

Or another line of code, water related.

All i got to say is that's aheck of a lot lighter than what shows up in my game.
