Please stop with the rivet counting and enjoy having an american route. If y'all want everything to be "perfect" go make your own company and give it a try.

As a paying customer I have the right to criticize or praise any product that I have purchased as to its merits or lack of as long as I do it in a courteous and thoughtful manner. I don't expect perfect in this case, just better.

Soooo... any pics of the scenery on the route? Terrain?

The recycled stock is part of the Dovetail business model that ain't changing anytime soon. If you add up the man hours that $40 x ~1000-1500 units pays for, it doesn't cover much time for making a super detailed route, let alone creating fresh super detailed 3d models. We can wish for whatever we want, but the best items for this game have came from 3rd party devs. Be greatful for what we have, and 'vote with your wallet'.

We have better stock available to us, which we can swap in/out with RWtools, or by making our own scenarios.

I’ be clearer (than my last post?), I like it. It has lots of good, lots of potential for development (I always tweak, add, change for my own use) and as far as the stock is concerned, the library is full of repaints to swap.
If DTG did everything a) we couldn’t afford it b) third party developers wouldn’t exist c) there wouldn’t be any scope for our individual creativity and d) there would be nothing to aspire to.

Thank you DTG for an American Route now do another one.

I’m going to buy this as I love running local freights. In terms of horns, bells etc I actually stopped paying attention to stock horns and bells a while ago as the first thing I do is replace them with sound files from my library of searchlight simulations horn sets.

In terms of the rolling stock comments I would love to see more variety not so much in shape, but in textures/weathering as it’s not normal to see a bunch of rail cars in a row that looks exactly the same. I think i just need to get into the habit of actually downloading some repaints and replacing them in activities.

Any warts aside I’m happy that DTG is still producing content like this.

I will say that this is a good base route that will look better as people add personal fluff, modify sounds and change power and rolling stock to suit individual tastes. I do thank DTG for an American route.

The horn on the GP40 sounds terrible. I'll be switching it out for something more realistic.

When Searchlight Simulations comes out with their loco sound fixes for the route, I'll pick it up then. Hint... hint.

Searchlight wont touch those. The closest they'll do is make a GP38-2

If you don't mind me asking... why? Searchlight Sim has both the turbo and non-turbo 16-645 EMD sound sets. And Searchlight Sim has done sound enhancements for other DTG products. With the reoccurring complaint about "recycled sounds", this seems like a natural enhancement for your product line, plus I would think it would be a fairly quick hitter as the base sound sets already exist. Anyways, If the answer is no, I hope Searchlight Sim reconsiders. Thanks!

It's a time consuming process and we rather spend it on development of brand new rolling stock/locos rather than "fixing" default stock.
