Yep these rail yards in Anchorage have no stuff there.

Golly if you look at that spot where there seems to be nothing there in the yard and look at it on Google Earth there is nothing there.

More like a question about an observation.

Anyhow, here's an excerpt from a steam review that provides an answer as to why the GP38 scenarios are light engine scenarios:

"Note: It is very obvious that passenger equipment was intended to be included, but was not. You can see this in the first scenario with the GP38. The departure time from Anchorage is 6:45, the exact departure time of the Coastal Classic passenger train, which operates between Anchorage and Seward. Second, when entering the Rainbow passing siding, it literally calls the player train "COASTAL CLASSIC SOUTH," when the train is actually just a pair of geeps."

Beautiful Route! I ran around in Freeroam as is and then went to trying out the different Searchlight Simulation horns on two units before settling on the ones I liked. I ended up with the Nathan K5LA on the GP38 and K5HLL on the SD70MAC. Played a couple of scenarios with them and I'm more than pleased with this route. Plus we now have a home for the Alaska S160

Well we all have the right to believe and say what we want. I wasn't too pleased so I've started mucking around in the route editor, starting to look a bit more like it. I decided to use Racetrack assets too, but it's only Alaska and Racetrack assets. All in all I've really only spent a couple hours on it and I think it's a good improvement. Still a fair bit left I want to do.

The pathway going under the bridge and along the shore wasn't modeled so I decided to add it, along with more foliage.

Screenshot_Alaska_61.22258--149.88937_10-01-28.jpg

Yes this yard is empty but google street view showed that they use it for truck storage so I added some trailers. Also Ties and some container bins.

Screenshot_Alaska_61.22160--149.88481_10-01-13.jpg

I've added fencing, sidewalks, new buildings, a park (far right) replaced the parking lots with hand made ones (Still need to redo the one centre bottom), and replaced the ARR headquarters with a building that matches it closer.

I'm not saying I dislike the route, quite contrary really, it's great. However I see some areas that I wanted to improve.

So out of the bare yards, the scenery is OK?

Arctic atmosphere caught nicely with custom assets?

Bears and moose included?

Were there licensing issues with the passenger carrier, because there are no passenger cars included? Or will these be a future DLC?

The specific direct train order dispatching works as it should?

The passenger carrier is the same as the freight carrier. The only licensing issue with stock that I can imagine would be the Princess Cruise cars.

What I imagine is that it all boils down to the fact they didn't have the manpower and resources to build the appropriate railcars for a train or two. There would be a lot of custom work to do, as there are currently no assets that could match the proper Colorado Railcar pax equipment.
