With the standard version I got to set first the dynamic brakes B position in the column and keyboard or mouse throttle to go up and down (as you describe).
It uses notches as the throttle and you can´t set the dynamics in low values (as in all the old diesels). The main problem here is that this loco has a very accurate simulation.

I understand well. **!!bang!!**

My question now is:

Is there a way to control the upper part of the selector positions by using a keystroke?
I haven´t been able yet to find a reference in the manual. It is not a normal pdf where you can do a word search.

A friend of mine can´t use the throttle with the Raildriver. What is he missing here?

If you figure that please post it. The only way I have found to move the upper control is in the cab.

Anything with the RailDriver throttle control?
I found this: viewtopic.php?f=29&t=16245&p=184827&hilit=Gp20+Raildriver#p184827

"I" moves selector up and "K" moves it down. It bugs me that you only can rotate the cab view 180 degrees, any way to fix that?

Yes but I'll have to take a look. I don't remember what you need to do but that is fixable.

Extract the gp20_Cab_camera.bin file into a Cabview folder created aside the .AP
Open with RW_Tools and edit:

Code: Select all
<horizontalDirectionalFreedom d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="0000004033330340" d:precision="string">1.4</horizontalDirectionalFreedom>

By using 2.4 instead 1.4 you may look at the electrical switch panel (and zoom to it)
A value of 3.0 allows you rotating about 2x180 (360) degrees and look thru the rear window.
However the rotation to the right produces a small visual anomaly in the window, caused by the DirectX bubble.
I believe this is the cause why Reppo released the cabview with that angle of rotation (1.4).
The case I mention is only to increase the angle of view.

I have not tested what this produces in the ADV which uses an independent view of that panel (the solution for the buble). It shouldn´t be a problem.

You can do the same vertically with:

Code: Select all
<verticalDirectionalFreedom d:type="sFloat32" d:alt_encoding="000000606666F63F" d:precision="string">1.4</verticalDirectionalFreedom>

You (or others) have not yet posted about why the Raildriver throttle refuses to work with the GP20. *!rolleyes!*

I don't have rail driver so someone else will have to jump in on that one.

Once you learn this engine's start-up procedures and begin growing tired of playing with them, I believe you'll find the model much too elementary. Cab windows and doors are unmovable, but the real absurdity is that the cab's rear windows cannot be seen with any of the three cab cameras because they do not swivel around far enough. So the only way to see where you're going while driving in reverse is to use the head-out camera and swivel that appropriately, but switching to any other camera and returning to the head-out one leaves you looking forward again and having to repeat the swivel. Shame on Reppo for these cameras and shame on DTG for not catching this ridiculously elementary design error. !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*! !*not-ok*!

The funny thing about the limit on turning to the back in the #1 position is that the earlier releases did allow you to look back from inside the cab.

May I direct you to this article in the RWA learning center:
Changing and adding cab cameras in an engine

In this I use the SP GP20 as an example.
This had 360 degrees camera freedom.

Attached is the resulting camera blueprint. Just drop it in the cabview folder.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
