I'm surprised no one's mentioned that compared to the initial WIP images, the windows on the released version are slightly tinted. I just think DTG didn't want to overly tint the windows to the point where you can't see out of them when in passenger camera mode.

Actually, I mentioned it quite a number of times prior to it's release on Thursday, On facebook, engine-driver, twitter, on here as well, earlier in this thread as a matter of fact. Kinda surprised you both managed to miss that, because I even posted a photo. I was probably one the of the very few, if not the only one to notice the lack of tinted windows, off the back. I've emailed them a collage of two photos to compare the windows. And told them about the missing black paint along the window panels on the coupling/married ends of the cars.

I actually received a response, and later on, the same evening on the day it was released they updated it to fix the black paint finish, along with the performance issues people were having with it. The black paint fix is shown in the photo I posted earlier in this thread. Compare it to the photos they initially posted on their social media accounts and you shall see it wasn't there before.

Actually, that isn't the case at all, The British Class 444, 466's, even the ICE trains have Tinted windows, and you can see out of them perfectly fine in passenger view (except the 444, because they didn't give it passenger view)

Question: how would one go about modifying the brakes so that the dynamics take priority over the pneumatic brakes? Currently the M8 brakes are air only until you pass 50% on the brake portion of the controller, then dynamics are added proportionally depending on how far past 50% you've set the brakes at.

Just before I post a fix and look ignorant :D
Looking at pics online, the front windows look untinted, correct? what about the drivers side windows should they be left untinted or should they be as tinted as the passenger windows?
Ive made a new set of glass so all can have different tinting as required

Definitely not a 'good' dlc. If it was awesome the video would be way longer.

The long awaited M8 framerate patch was released this morning at around 5 A.M.

Here are the full patch notes:

• Slow frame rate / drop in frame rate fixed
• Destination boards flickering fixed
• Darkened windows
• Rear tail lights being on at the same time as headlights fixed
• Spelling errors, punctuation and grammar corrected in gameplay menus, scenario text and manual
• Alarm sound audible from exterior of non-active cabs fixed
• Contact shoe going through the rails fixed
• Scenario scores adjusted as necessary.
• Throttle not moving down when the emergency brake is in use fixed.
• Adjusted driver position in cab
• Added additional passengers
• Green tick issues for completing scenarios fixed
• In cab flicker fixed
• Headlights on AI trains fixed to show as turned on with lighting effects

Also addressed in the patch is the dynamic brake behavior in relation to the combined throttle & brake controller position. Dynamics will now apply as soon as a minimum reduction application is made.

Not addressed in the pack are the fact that the sounds for the horn, doors, traction motors, and trucks/wheels still come directly from the Hitachi Javelin HST set. Physics were also not corrected. As such, I have updated my physics mod pack for the M8 accordingly to ensure compatibility with the DTG patch. Keep an eye out at the file library for when it goes live, or, if you don't want to wait, do some digging on YouTube *!!wink!!*

With the update, is the M8 DLC worth buying if on sale with FanRailer's mods included?

^ It would be great if DTG actually uses your physics packs in an update, or if they go up to you for the physics and some sounds.

Even without the updates, I think the M8 is worth picking up *on sale*. They physical model is very detailed and looks pretty nice. My mod packs just make operating the thing more realistic, if anyone cares at all about that lol.

It's been a long time coming, but I finally got around to replacing those completely inaccurate Hitachi motor sounds with M8 motor sounds. I'll be hosting the release thread at the Freeware forum in a few days:
