The supplied passenger cars are the Japan built ones.

Do they come close to the Burlington ones, which look like Budd built cars?

Mixture of old Budd CB&Qs, RTA Budds, Amerail, and Nippon Sharyo cars. Typical set.

To most players the cars look alike and share many common design features.
Can that letterboard be added as a child object or decal (with a certain thickness and shine)?

I would not recommend it but probably. The cars are actually extremely different from one another to be honest even the cabs were different for the cab car variants. I proposed a article to engine driver a few days ago so once that is up it should give you a more enlightenment on their specs.

Since you mention it. From the ONE time I actually got to ride Metra last year.

I also don't know why I didn't look for this earlier, but I'm beyond happy to see it in the game!

First of all, I would like to congratulate barnez and the folks who programmed this wonderful route. I have lived in the Chicago area all of my life, and having a commuter line like this available in a simulator is a childhood dream come true. Here's hoping you decide to add other Chicago routes....an area which is incredibly overlooked in TS packages given its history. I would personally love to see the BNSF lines (especially partial to the West Line), but really....ANY route covering the Windy City is much appreciated. Very well done!

[Slight edit to previous post]--Sorry....I meant the UP West Line, which being the die-hard Chicagoan I am, I still consider the C&NW West Line.

Picked this up during the sale - nice route. Saw some discussion regarding the pax runs and figured I'd give them a try.
I haven't run part 2, but part 1 is totally doable (note - I did have to restart the scenario over once due to the ever fun glitch on resume bug. In this case, a signal got stuck red and was switched against me).

The Metra Mod has been updated. Brakes have now been fixed and brake pipe pressure has been reverted back to 90 PSI. Brakes are now also graduated release. More details in the release thread linked below.
