If its the red gyra then it will only light up when the emergency brake is on.

I'd gladly do it for free or at the most have RSC steam gift me the DLC after it's been tested and approved for sale.

I know RSC didn't make the SP SD45, but they had the power to send out preview WIP pics of it so the buying public would catch the mistake and it could be fixed long before it goes on sale.

Some people may hate us rivet counters, but I see it like this. If you are going to put all that time and effort into something, it bahooves you to get it right...... ESPECIALLY if you are going to charge people for it. Even if you have never laid actual eyes on a real SP SD45, many of us foamers have and taken pictures of it. Many of them thankfully have been uploaded to sites like railpictures.net

Here's a picture of an SP SD45 with no brake cylinders attached to the sides of the truck to clearly see the difference from a UP SD45's trucks.

Nice little info on that page for the SP SD45s...

There's a box that says gyralight on it above the train air brakes. Turn it all the way to the left.

I stand corrected then Sir, although, it's a pity that this information isn't on Steam, it might boost sales at the current discounted price.

I did a little research. The 3 extra holes in frame are to mount the air brake cylinders which UP used all 3 of them. Brain fart there. Most of UP SD45 pics on the net seem to be ex-SP units. I also found they had some from the Pennsylvania Railroad. Not to mention Rio Grande models (which had the smaller fuel tanks). Seems like UP ended up with everybody else's strays or inherited them. ! !*roll-laugh*!

HEY! Will you guys do me a favor? Go into QUICK DRIVE and choose the SP SD45 + 90 random wagons. On Cajon Pass choose Victorville as your departure point and use San Bernardino yard as your destination. My train keeps derailing for no reason just before you hit the first switch in front of you. Yet when I did it with the UP SD45 + 90 random wagons, I had no derail. Can somebody else try this and confirm the derail with the SP SD45? I doubt season or conditions will matter. You gotta do it as I posted above. Did it on 2 different computers

I got the emergency gyralight to spin but couldn't get the regular ones front or back to move when spinning the gyralight switch in the cab in any of it's positions. There's a switch on the side of the thing but you can't manipulate it as best as I can tell. Anybody know how to get it to work? !*don-know!*

Okay.... I made my first ever video for youtube and here is the derailment issue I speak of......

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=izpiVPIC ... e=youtu.be

I tried it with another of the SP SD45 consists and it didn't derail. I haven't tried all of it's consists, but the 90 car seems to be an issue. I'll run through them all and see what derails besides the 90 car train and get back to you guys. **!!bang!!**

I figured out why my regular gyralight didn't work...... you must have the reverser out of neutral or it doesn't work.

1: Every time I watch a video like that I go to scroll the view around then remember it's just a video.

2: It looks like it's derailing on a track node. Go into route editor with track tool selected and take a closer look at that track. Could be that the SP has more sensitive detail settings than the UP.

Well I started doing all the SP SD45 single loco consists in quick drive with the parameters the same. They didn't have problems then or now. Tried the 90 car again after numerous fail attempts and cache clears before. Didn't do a cache clear this time and went run 8 instead of run 1 for the heck of it and it cleared the switch! So I reloaded and did run 1 again to see if that slow speed was the issue and now it clears the switch too.

It's almost like there has been an intermittent bug introduced in the last update.... cuz a couple days ago I had a UP ES44AC train in quick drive that always kept derailing trying to get out of the San Bernadino yard eastbound. Then it just started working again out of the blue.

Hopefully it stops for good, but I'm afraid it's may be a recurring gremlin..... knock on wood. **!!bang!!** *!sad!*

That's bizarre. I hate it when a problem (temporarily) fixes itself before I get a change to figure out WHY it happened. It's a horrible feeling knowing it's gonna jump out and bite when I really need it no to, like the day before releasing a route *!sad!*

Well if it don't go through, ram it through! !*roll-laugh*!

The thing is .... this same SP derail kept occurring on my other computer too that I have Railworks installed on. That's why I suspect a bug in the latest update. !*not-ok*!

Anyone else notice that the SD45 appears to have ridiculously strong train brakes? I'm partway through the second scenario, and every time I make a minimum reduction, its like I went into emergency. I'm trying to remember what settings in the .sim file control minimum reduction pressure, but I've been away from RW too long it seems....?

Anyone concur with my findings?
