I'd take a commuter route over a mountain route any day.

SFBR?

San Francisco Bay Railroad

Seems like a neat little short-line.

Their website confirms one S-2 for sure. Google earth makes it look like they might have 2-3 of them.

I'm just curious about the 5 miles of waterfront line they claim. I'm assuming this is trackage rights from their yard to the UP yard in South SanFran.

Doesn't Amtrak California run along the same route?

I only figured it out by looking at google earth and then searching what railroads operated in the area. I love looking up stuff like that!

Thanks for the information. So with that it does look like the Caltrain Line from San Francisco to San Jose. Here is the link I posted earlier of the Caltrain Line from San Jose to San Francisco.

https://youtu.be/NyWGG6vzGHA

So we are getting a San Francisco To San Jose Route this is great news.

Once it comes out I am pretty sure there will be people that will clone it and add on to this Route. I know I will be one of them.

I am going to clone the Sacramento Northern Route from G-Trax Simulations when it comes out. It is set in the Bay Area around 1939 and 1940 to my best knowledge.

Looking forward to more news about the San Francisco Route.

Can you include the NWP in Marin County to like Santa Rosa?

It'll be a shame if it doesn't go past Diridon down to Gilroy. That's a part of the route I'd really like to see simulated, since it's relatively difficult for me to ever ride it when I'm in the Bay Area.

A quick look at the URL included in the stating post ( http://train-simulator.com/route-propos ... a-network/ , to save time searching) should clear up a lot of the absurd speculation contained in this thread (and that's the polite way to describe it). That article first appeared in October, 2015, and the route has not been mentioned since on the Train Simulator site, by the way.

That was a route proposal, not the actual route they are building, which they have talked about in recent DTG videos. It's definitely Cal-Train running up the S.F. peninsula.

The only absurd comments and questions, are things like "can they add the NWP?" when it's over the water from San Francisco.
Those of us from the Bay Area are not speculating, we know the network well and know from who their "partners" are what they are making for a route.

We're not going to see the East Bay part of it (not likely anyways) because it's too involved to do right.
