Koblenz-Trier was released via Steam recently (JT first back in April 2015) and has standard scenarios even in steam release ;)

That's interesting! Maybe they've changed their policy. I'll have to ask.

Thanks! I do in fact have the detailed drawings for the reverser and throttle levers, so they'll be the most accurate I've done so far. The rest of the gauges are little bit more difficult because I'll have to guess (gauge?) their sizes.

Oh, and I've also got the drawings for the firebox door. All in all, I think I'll manage to do a pretty accurate recreation of the cab, but more photos are always useful and welcome.

Take a look to the "Eureka" cab views in Google.
And the images in "Crosby and Ashcroft steam gauges"
It may help.

I am not sure but maybe you told me some time ago that you already have that book "Classic American Locomotives" (which is quite cheap in Amazon for a 700 pages book), but I can´t see how it can help you. Most of it are cross section schematics of parts and devices, though there are some external drawings. And most the locomotives dealt in the book are beyond (in time) the early American locos.

It's a different book that I've got - "Perfecting the American Steam Locomotive".

More progress ...

To give you an idea of the amount of work involved ... those cab support side plates might not look like much, but to get the dimensions, the shapes of the cutouts, and the positions and sizes of all the nuts, bolts and rivets absolutely accurate to the drawings (for me, "accurate" means that any error has to be no more than a scale 1/64th of an inch), took me all day!

Glad to see this Mike, I've been to Promontory, UT and watched the daily re-creation of the Golden Spike ceremony.

The man who spent the money for the replicas was a glorious fool, but it was and is appreciated. Disney's artists did the gold leaf and paintings on both the replicas.

Somewhere on Youtube is a film about the building of these beauties. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oM2A2NEaRqg (has a nice clip of 844 too!)

Shoddy! *!rolleyes!*

Glad you've found another project to work on, Mike. Looking forward to watching your progress, as ever. :D

With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

Hopefully, but take in account that the FEF-3 is about twice as big if not more. And you made so many people happy when you first announced it, it looks so good with 3985, 4014 locomotives.
