LOL, the manual states the weight is unknown; this site (http://www.thedieselshop.us/Data%20EMD%20SD9.HTML) states the locomotive weighs in at 360000 pounds, translated to 180 tons! DTG better do their research.

Beta testers anyone?

Hmmm, the description on the Steam store page says (verbatim):

The EMD SD9 for Train Simulator is available in Denver & Rio Grande livery and features advanced breaking controls scripted specifically for the Soldier Summit route. Also included are mill gondolas as freight traffic.

I'm not sure what gets broken when you use the advanced breaking controls.

I think it also has advanced brakes, possibly.

Hmmm, but, the SD9 Wikipedia page doesn't say what the weight is. Is that why DTG printed unknown as they didn't know which one was correct..... *!lol!*

It was stated in the Twitch preview that the doors did not open. Not sure about windows.

The correct weight of the D&RGW units was 367,000 pounds.

If DTG didn't know the weight, I wonder what figure for locomotive mass they put in the engine blueprint. I haven't got the SD9, so I can't check it myself.

I wonder if the physics are close to DTG's GP9...

I'd be willing to bet they copied the GP9 simulation.
