Nice! That's at the north end of the WPB platform where the pedestrian overpass is located. This view is from the west side of the track looking southeast. !!*ok*!!

That's interesting.
I'm glad you guys in the southeast are finally getting what you asked for. We have plenty of North American mountain routes.

Yeah it seems you're right, not sure where I got that from. HSC is about 40 miles and Sherman IIRC is about 65.

Nonetheless, it takes 1 1/2 hours by Amtrak and a good 2 hours to traverse the route for Tri-Rail. That's about my attention span anyway.

However, Sherman hill while shorter did have 2 routes which if you add together you get a fairly long length of track.
Seems like a long time ago now.

Yes with Sherman Hill it also depends on which track you take 1 and 2 or the "scenic route" track 3, which is quite a bit longer.

Looking great, glad they even went the mile to do bike lockers. I think CSX is an integral part though, there are NUMEROUS counting on NUMEROUS switching opportunities in Miami, those should be considered for this route to be utter perfection.

Unless the FEC Coastal link is considered, don't expect FEC, because simply the coastal link doesn't exist!

60 to 70 miles stretch? Sound's perfect. It goes through Hollywood Florida? To West palm Beach? Sweet. I've lived in Florday for 7 years and I know what it's like. Can't wait for this route.

It's great to have you here at RWA! This route will most likely focus on the Tri-Rail/Amtrak corridor, but that's only a guess. Maybe they'll include some decent detail of the Hialeah yard, but with your talent for route building, I have no doubt that you can work your magic and add to this fantastic effort by the DTG team! Homestead subdivision maybe?

I've already been daydreaming about the WPB possibilities. Hopefully DTG will include the Mangonia Park terminus of Tri-Rail service. The Windsor wye connects to FEC just south of there at 25th street and the Agram wye connects to FEC at Lewis Terminal just north of there. Those two points would be great opportunities to extent this route north and east into FEC territory for some interesting freight switching opportunities including the Port of Palm Beach. Of course there's always that straight shot of CSX track toward Okeechobee into the Auburndale sub too!

This is just what South Florida rail simmers have been waiting for! !*YAAA*!

I'd be willing to bet that it includes Mangonia Park and has a portal about a mile down the straightaway towards Auburndale. I imagine this ends right at the Miami Amtrak station (hopefully the new one?) and includes the CSX/Tri-Rail yards down there. FEC is certainly a long shot, if it's not included, I have some ideas. I began working on the FEC and Hialeah Yard earier this year and I made some progress on it, finishing all the track and scenery within the yard. If it's possible, maybe some of us can collaborate and add the FEC extension to this route. Could you imagine being able to run Tri-Rail and Amtrak, make it nighttime and run a CSX local, then do some switching and end up running an FEC rock train?

But maybe I'm being ambitious. Let's just wait to see what this route includes. I'm certainly excited *!lol!*

They're getting to be about as bad as Amtrak California during the Napa Earthquake back in August.
