I suppose we'll just have to wait and see if the actual release of TS2014 has the same look as the Youtube preview or if the preview has been edited with effects. The graphics of the preview are quite different than TS2013. The colors are less saturated as Bob noted and the overall color temperature is warmer. There is a gaussian blur effect applied too. I'm thinking these changes are most likely editing effects for the promo, but time will tell.

To those saying that RSC is not responding to what we want, I'd have to disagree. As I recall, last year when TS2013 was released, one of the biggest complaints was that RSC was shutting out user created content by deliberate design. The issue was so hot that several content contributors ditched the TS platform completely. Now, a year later and a large part of the fanfare of this years release is player and independent developer created content as a main feature of the sim. They are promoting a new marketplace to include scenery items, reskins, and rolling stock. The Steam Workshop will include routes as well as scenarios. There is a large emphasis in the promo material encouraging player route design and modification, and there was the announcement of the LUA compiler and other new scenario tools for expanded scenario authoring capabilities. What's not to like about these developments?

There was a loud disaccord from the TS players last year. We wanted total creative access to the program and the way I see it they heard us and they are delivering.

As for the arcade style fluff, it should be obvious why it is necessary if you view the development of TS as a business. See my last years post for details. **!!2cents!!**

There's no point in rereleasing the same game two years in a row with nothing to show for it. I saw no hange whatsoever. I'm gonna be like nick orozak from train a mania and give their promo videos a solid F-.

Kyle,
If you are going to post at least read the thing so you make some sense. Additionally don't go jumping to conclusions until you see the finished product. Who cares what Nick whatever-his-name-is thinks.

But you kinda just prove my point. People who create content and scenarios are the vast MINORITY of Railworks owners. Just go to the file section and see who is creating the content. You see a lot of the same names over and over again. The MAJORITY of users never bother to make a scenarios, rolling stock, sounds, scenery objects, etc etc.

On the other hand..... one request that consistently comes up is REALISTIC PHYSICS. Comes up year after year in thread after thread. It's something BOTH the minority content creators and majority users have been clamoring for...... yet we still wait. The physics in certain instances have improved, but even then they are still unrealistic.

I applaud them for the things they do improve. I won't knock them for that at all. But.....until they address the physics issues, it will always be basically the same sim with a new year number slapped on the splash screen to ME.

SO FAR... they haven't presented me with any reason to purchase 2014...... so it's looking like they'll have to wait until 2015 for another crack at my wallet. !!**sorry**!!

I know. I meant rewarding them with a purchase of it. Even if I already own all the routes that are included, if they get the physics right....I will purchase the sim anyways to show my gratitude. Kinda like giving a waiter a big tip for great service. If they don't give me the service I expected.... no tip for them.

I would like to see better steam particles and physics.

This is a recording...........over and over and over. I keep telling you guys talk to RSC. It certainly doesn't do anything here. And it for sure isn't going to accomplish anything for a release that is in a few weeks.

Know of an e-mail address other than support@railsimulator.com? If you do, then please share it because I would love to send my own inquires to the RSC Dev Team and not to some (probably) unpaid intern who's hired to respond to e-mails.

I don't care about the finished product. None of their promo videos for ANYTHING made me say WOW other than Marias pass. Most of their promo videos made me go what the heck was that? Half of their ts2013 videos don't even show any trains

Well let's see now. Two of the guys that work there post on here and are members so you could probably try to start a dialog with one of them. Other than that I have not been into trying to tell them how to run their company so I do not know how to communicate directly with the company. I'm sure someone on here has spoken with someone there. I know BNSF Dude is a beta tester and has provided them with sounds so maybe he could help you out.

So far all I have seen is fluf! The new logo, updated engine driver site, Career scenarios. maybe an inproved scenario editor. BUT, what about past promises? With TSX all engines would be updated with headlights. To date none on the SD70, SW1500, GPP9. SD 40HN. Where is the improved AI dispatcher? Where is an updated creators manual? What about the Wiki? LUA scripting? Why are new signals encripted?
