At 30/20 and 15 mph is correct for this route. The last time I checked that 24 to 30, 150 car trains run on the Monongahela in a 24 hour period. Since the Bailey Prep plant and load out support three mines now and pushing for 30 million tons a year production. The Emerald mine produces about 4 to 6 million tons a year. To understand a broad picture here There is also two more mines on this line westward from emerald. Blacksville and Federal which are part of Murray energy. To the east but not of the Monongahela is the Cumberland mine which has its own dedicated closed rail line that does not interchange. Cumberland has two SD38-2 locomotives and about 150 coal gons that run from the mine to a river load out. All these mines use automated long wall mining process that cuts away underground at a coal face of 60 to 84 inch and up to 12500 feet long. Its pretty interesting to study up on this area. Now growing up in this area I had seen allot of coal mining and that's Where the Montour route is involved. Most of the mines there were using continuous mining and room and pillar.

attention for scenario players

there is bug in the sim, which prevents "stop" scenario event from completion.
it happens almost exclusively with loaded coal gondolas (sometimes with empties, but they are less prone to that)

sometimes, if tracks have mild incline, it's almost impossible to bring train to full stop - even with emergency brake application, and using hand brakes on multiple cars. Wayne is such notorious place, Gate siding and some tracks on West Brownsville yard too.

I just ran a scenario with the CSX SD80 and did not get a completion at the Fredricktown Rip Track. Said I did not stop at one of the points, but I don't know which one it could have been.

Are you using coal hoppers? Make sure they are not bouncing around at the end of the scenerio when you think you are stopped, especially if they are loaded hoppers.

Edit the coal hoppers bin file and reduce the loaded weight to 50 tons.

Bob,

I was using the content that was in the scenario when I D/Led it. It was 70 or 72 empty coal hoppers.

Hate to bump the thread, but MAJOR update has been rolled out for the NS Coal Route and Dash 8-40C (C40-8).

Here's a list of what's been addressed:

Fixed a flickering road at Denbo
Fixed a number of instances of clipping or missing textures and missing terrain
Fixed a number of flickering textures alongside the track
Fixed an issue with some bridges that would disappear on low scenery densities
Fixed an issue with tunnels

Fixed non-functional cab controls on Dash9-44CW
Fixed non-functional train brake on Dash9-44CW
Fixed missing wiper audio on Dash9-44CW
Fixed brake cylinder and brake pipe pressure readings on Dash9-44CW
Fixed missing wiper audio on ES44AC
Fixed missing windscreen heater strip on exterior view on ES44AC
Fixed brake cylinder and brake pipe pressure readings on ES44AC
Fixed an issue with the G11 round tub coal gondolas that would cause them to rock from side-to-side in the middle of long consists.
NS Dash8-40C

Fixed an issue with the road number boards not being illuminated
Fixed missing flashing ditch lights (now tied to horn activation as per prototype and can be activated using the J key)
Fixed an issue with Quick Drive that would incorrectly state the loco as EMD SD80MAC
Fixed an issue with the G11 round tub coal gondolas that would cause them to rock from side-to-side in the middle of long consists
If you have purchased the Norfolk Southern Coal District, either standalone or as part of Train Simulator 2016: Steam Edition, and/or have purchased the NS Dash8-40C, the updates will download automatically from Steam. I just got the Dash8 update, still waiting for the NSCD route update.

I noticed in the temporary download directory a patch file, so I suppose the contents of the .ap asset packs can be remotely patched through Steam.
A zipped Dash9Pack01Assets.ap is still 2 x larger than the download I received from Steam.

I have no evidence of a Dash9Pack01Assets.ap file anywhere.

Have the ES44AC and C40-8 received the new advanced brakes; the ES44 with new engine and compressor sounds also heard on the Sherman Hill ES44AC/C45ACCTE?

Sorry, my bad. *!embar*!
The Dash8Pack01Assets.ap file inside the DTG\Dash8Pack01 folder got updated.
I couldn't bail-off the independent brakes, so no MK III realistic braking (Mike Rennie's). Probably still the as-released version where the sim brakes lag behind the handle position by means of a script.

It still has no traction motors in the trucks, nor sand lines. Seems to be the trend with DTG's US locomotives commissions of late. !*not-ok*!

Now the Dash 8's ditchlights don't work unless they are flashing. !*not-ok*!

I don't have any update on the ES either unless I'm looking at the wrong one. What do we have about twelve of them now? If you are talking about the one in the Penn Coal no update here.
