Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like they've released more pictures in development of this route than other routes before their releases. That's a good thing. Clearly the route builders are stepping up their game a bit. Like the Surfliner route, this route has big chunks of it in rotatable higher-res aerial (airplane) shots to draw from in Google Maps instead of the lower-res Google satellite images.

I really am looking forward to this release. If the screenshots do proper justice, this may be one of the best (if not THE best) routes DTG/RSC will have ever made as far as quality and detail goes.

Not sure if anyone else pointed this out, but it seems like they're including the branch lines as part of the route as well. It'll be pretty neat to be able to run any type of New Haven line service with the metro north equipment.

At the moment, I've only noticed shots and read about the New Canaan branch being included with the route but maybe that's because it's the only electrified branch on Metro North's New Haven line. The Danbury and and Waterbury both use diesel powered "mini-bomb" and "maxi-bomb" trains. IIRC, the Danbury branch was electrified years ago under the New Haven; there are still catenary poles along the ROW today.

Maybe that very early WIP shot of a shoreliner cab car, has something to do with the future addition of the Danbury and Waterbury branches, but for now, I also have only heard of the New Canaan branch.

There's a reason the route is named "new york - new haven." If it ran to Boston, it would be "New York - Boston." Wishful thinking though.

Better you be told beforehand, than to expect more than what is being given when the route is released. I expect that folks will probably have something to gripe about when it comes out (highly likely this week).

The M8's are really coming together. Looks like there almost done, if not already in the final testing stage. Looks like they'll probably be realeased maybe even the same day as the route.

Yeah I saw it too, and got so amp'd for it. Though there's a slight little feature with the black finish, along the windows at the coupling ends of the cars. Which isn't that big of a deal to me. But it's something I've noticed right away. I'll still purchase it right away, regardless.

Way excited for this route and all is corresponding services.

Yeah, I saw it to and got so amp'd

Those M8's are built not too far from where I live.

THATS AWESOME! You guys think the M8's will be included, or as DLC?
