While I'm at it for those of you that want to switch the wagon sounds over the Krellnut wagon sounds here is a little patch to do that.

Didn't know they had Mobile Homes back in the day *!greengrin!*

That's where the route builders hung out during construction -- it will be hauled away as soon as the work order goes through.

If the review I just saw on YT is to be believed, then Golden needs to be rebuilt...... Major scenery fails...

I'm not sure what "scenery fails" might mean, but while starting a shunting scenario in the Golden yards yesterday, I noticed that while some of the siding markers include the words "Golden Roundhouse", others read "Golden Roundhoeus". More and more, this strikes me as a WIP whipped into sales far too soon. Perhaps DTG will use some of the profits to purchase a spelling & grammar checker? *!rolleyes!*

Maybe it was done on purpose. Why ever do you think it was some kind of WIP?

DTG support must be snowed under. Sent a query 12 hrs ago, have not heard back. Usually get a reply within a couple of hours.

Just a brief review on the scenario I'm driving.

I'm actually enjoying this route and its challenges. I'm running the scenario Clear Creek Freight Pt1 and you have to keep your mind on the ball as you well stall. In some parts you are climbing at 3.9% and just as you think you are about to stall you level out to about 1.5% and pick up speed. You have got to keep a fine balance between the regulator and the reverser, keeping the boiler pressure up to nearly maximum pressure so you can climb in the steepest parts. Also maintaining a healthy fire helps. The boiler level falls rather quickly and you have to judge when to fill it which also fills rather quickly. These locos are a dream to drive and also a challenge which I like, makes you think. This is driving it without the auto fireman. There is also what they call a scripted fireman which you use with the F3 hud and has 10 positions, 5 with the auto fireman just stoking the fire and another 5 with him also filling the boiler and stoking the fire. Although most of the speed in the scenario is 15mph, and as you are so busy driving it time goes rather quickly. If anyone likes a challenge and enjoys driving steam locos this is one for you. Don't really know about the scenery etc as I'm to busy to look.

Posted this on trainsim.com as everything there is very negative.

Edit: Always keep the blower on and for the sander, you need to hold that on too as it release when you let it go, either in the cab or the keyboard using the X key.

As usual. It's so easy to sit back and P&M about everything that's not perfect and while this route can use some 'junking up' to make it more realistic it's still a great backbone and a bunch of fun to play around with. I look forward to someone like what Eric did with the Donner to make this a real prize. In any event it's a great addition to TS.

My post might get deleted there as it is saying something positive. !*roll-laugh*!

I have finished the Clear Creek Freight Pt1 scenario twice and get a message something like that's not right try again scenario incomplete. !*don-know!*

What do you guys think of the smoke on the Baldwin ? Someone complaining on Steam about a lack of puffs showing.

There is puffing smoke on the engines, but it's hard to notice. There seems to be two smoke emitters on the stacks, one gives off a constant plume of smoke, and the other puffs when moving. I discovered this when I accidentally let the fire mass go to zero on the oil fired B-4-D. The emitter that gave off the constant plume quit making smoke. I was still able to get the fire mass back to normal, and the engine steamed fine with no constant plume, but it would still make puffs of smoke as the engine moved.

Hi simmers, I'm back in the saddle !*salute*!

I'm quite fond of our favorite narrow gauge route and have started a repaint project for 8,000 gals. tankers (Tidewater, Shell and my own vesion of C and S). I have a problem with its autonumbering : it has only ONE primary_number imbedded within the model's 3D file; thus 1) I would greatly appreciate if someone would suggest how to contact JL or 2) I would like to know if there is a possible patch (changing the 3D code!!! I dought). If we could have at least a 2 primary_number tank car we would have a great flexibility.

More IMPORTANT:

buzz456 wrote:Just a quick FYI, the regular gauge cars will only sit properly on the tracks going in one direction and our standard gauge locomotives will not sit on these dual gauge tracks. There will have to be mods made for them to work and again I think they will only work in one direction.

Since Buzz wrote his observation, NOTHING has been done to rectify this hurddle. Is there an ''elegant'' way to seat properly a railcar on the C.C. NG Route dual gauge trackage. Where is the parameter located, that handles the car alignment on any track, and in which file is it coded. Can it be tweaked or is it a buried parameter. Image, the new scenario possibilties, available with a definite patch.

I await your creative suggestion with anticipation. *&!welcome!&*
