Sorry Buzz, but I'm beginning to believe they don't truly have beta testers considering their track record. I think the authors build it and any quality control ends at that step. Then it's just handed over for distribution. Pretty much every DLC has issues that could have been easily caught. With every release, the day-one purchasers usually find the flaws within 24-hours to a week. We're clearly the beta testers.

We are all human and make mistakes. I expect a flaw or two to be missed, but not the blatantly obvious ones though. I don't get as angry sometimes cuz I remind myself that the DX9 sim that we know is heading into the sunset anyways. When the new DX11/12 version of the franchise is finally out, then I will be much less forgiving of this stuff.

I do at least thank DTG for making this route. Florida was long overdue and we got it. So kudos for that cuz it is appreciated.

BTW.... how are the frame rates folks? Equal to Surfliner or better?

Quite good! I was surprised to be honest, a lot Surfliner. I don't know why because it has way more detail than some routes and they only run half as good. Guess DTG learned what optimization is.

What is really tiresome is the knee jerk bitching SOME people do here on the the forums at anyone that points up flaws in any newly released package using the same old tired cliched "you don't have to buy it" rant despite reasonable voices pointing out time and again the service provided to both forum users and DTG by honest appraisals.

What horn type would be prototypical for the Dash 8?

I's sorry if you are offended however we have always said that we would like this forum to be a positive place and since this is not the official DTG forum I see little use other than just complaining of why anyone needs to get on here and point out flaws. There are plenty of other venues if you enjoy and wish to join in on the bitching.

Cannon Rebel. FYI I tried to see what's up with the deal and I'm not sure how they did this since as usual someone went off in a new direction again and the wording is all different on the bogie config in the bin file.

CSX C40s range from K5LAs, K5Hs, K5HLs, and even RS3Ls and RS5Ts....

Go figure... why do something new, when you have something that works. What I don't get, is that the bogies on the rest of the passenger cars pivot just fine (Amfleet II, and both Heritage cars; bag and diner). So why fix what isn't broken? !*don-know!*

While we're adding to the list of problems;

Are you supposed to see that much daylight down there?

Image
Kind of a nitpick, but shouldn't there be the blue diagonal stripe there? Or is this one where the blue stripe isn't there?

As for the route itself, I have no problems with it. Very good scenery, pretty accurate for the area, and it's finally a proper place to run the CSX equipment we've been getting. I'm honestly only disappointed in the Dash 8.

Unfortunately, it is obvious that the Amfleets are the same model as the NEC Amfleet I's with one vestibule/door removed. The cafe has one extra window and has a "lounge" area with high tables, when in reality, Amfleet II's have seating and tables.

Notice there are only two windows on one side.

Buzz, it's not that we're bitching, but when a route and stock is released and it's obviously meant to be as realistic as possible, it can be difficult to overlook glaring mistakes. In the case of the P42DC actually being a repainted P32, or the Amfleets being exact copies of the old Amfleet models but with a removed window, it comes across as a lack of effort. The route is beautiful and brilliantly accurate (I live 5 minutes from the Boynton Beach Tri Rail Station), but the stock included is not up to the standards that my wallet paid for.

Yeah but my question is why post them here. Go complain to the guys that made the darn thing or if you want to be among fellow complainers go over to TS.com. They live to bitch over there.

At your command lol:

Here are the issues I found with the route, two of which you can see in this video lolz:
1. In free roam scenarios, all signal aspects are lit. It makes for a very Christmas-like feel, but certainly does not help when I'm trying to see if the switches are aligned correctly based on which signal aspect is lit.
2. I tried recording this video in quick drive at first, but quick drive spawns my train facing the wrong direction; meaning that I wanted to head sound to Miami from West Palm Beach, but the consist spawned with the locomotives on the north end of the train. As a result, I ended up just using free roam to record this video.
3. The Viewliner truck issue can be seen at the end of the video, where I'm switching the consist around the Amtrak yard.

NOTE: I already reported these issues to DTG, so hopefully a patch will drop sometime in the first part of 2015 that will correct these issues.
