I just used Krellnut wagon sounds. Flange squeal sound gone. **!!2cents!!**
trying to avoid sounding like a complete twit here. but how would i go about doing that? i do not usually do many modifcations to rolling stock. therefore it may help to treat me as a complete noob when it comes to adding sounds and so on
Do you have Krellnut wagon sounds?
yeah i just downloaded and installed them earlier
Anybody done the 70 minute scenario Clear Creek Freight Part 1 ? After picking up the extra wagon I can go for a couple of miles then stall on the climb with wheel slip, sanders on, I have full forward reverser and full throttle plenty of boiler pressure but cannot go forward. !*don-know!*

Was there a particular whistle code back then, like there is now? (ie long, long, short, long for crossings)

If I'm correct, none of the whistle signals have changed, other than steam whistles being replaced by air horns. !*roll-laugh*!

Absolutely loving the route but did notice one oddity coming up on Lawson I believe it was.

I'm having the exact same issue here, it seems the single engine is just not enough for the weight it's trying to pull up the hill, I can keep boiler pressure up but it just stalls out right at the Golden-chimney gulch portal

EDIT : problem solved, seems I forgot the handbrake on the caboose

Great job to all involved, I adore this route.

- One question though: the manual section about firing the B4D says:

The Scripted Automatic Fireman: This is available to users with certain limitations:
1. The built-in auto fireman must be off.
2. The F4 HUD must not be used.
3. F3 Display can be used without impact
--
Level 0 - The script does nothing allowing for one of the other firing options to control. If the built-in auto fireman or the use of the F5HUD is detected, the script will shut down if it has not already been set to zero.

If I'm reading this section correctly, then neither F4 or F5 HUDs work with the scripted fireman. If that's the case, how do we watch the engine's operating info if we're not in the cab? F3 HUD isn't very helpful for operating a steam locomotive.

Unless I'm reading this wrong?

So pray tell me which control/key board key is for the hand brake for the caboose, as there is no mention of it in the manual.

@Trev123 its the F3 HUD, there should be a coupler icon you can click on. That'll bring up the handbrakes and un/couple the cars.

I didn't put the brake on when I uncoupled the caboose. I think they have the speed wrong on that scenario as the speed in the F4 hud says 12mph but you can do 15mph before you get the speeding penalty. Found an error in the manual saying you use the S key to open the firebox door.

Im not sure what's going on then, I make it up past the steepest part only doing about 4mph but it makes it, you have to keep it going at max pressure though, if you happen to not hit it with max pressure you might not have that extra few psi to get you through that little part?

Not all track area allow for a 1-3 MPH over-speed I was caught at the 1 MPH limit over-speed at least twice. Tried to make up time and racked up penalties

It took me several complete resumes after saving after the pick-up you mentioned followed by a completely new start or two, but, yes, I finally completed the scenario -- don't ask about my "score": I have that turned off. Don't ask me how I got up that grade, either -- maybe Dan Hernandez's grandpa just took pity on me and pushed. More likely, I simply did the right thing by dumb luck. The Users' Manual notes freight car empty and loaded weights and offers advice about how much weight to attempt on those steep grades -- want to bet that the scenario maker didn't read that page?
!!howdy!!

P.s.: the greatest problem I'm facing with all the scenarios I've tried (especially the tutorials) comes from the nearly illiterate instruction panels. The manual isn't a gem of English usage either, but when I have to spend time scratching my head to comprehend a scenario instruction a rewrite is definitely called for. I've sent in a ticket about this to DTG's help site.
