The Twitch.tv preview of the route is available to view here http://www.twitch.tv/dovetailgames/v/42414649 if anyone is interested.
"Life is like a journey, taken on a train
With a pair of travelers at each windowpane.
I may sit beside you all the journey through,
Or I may sit elsewhere, never knowing you.
But if fate should mark me to sit by your side,
Let's be pleasant travellers; it's so short a ride."

There is a lot of information in that twitch video.
1- The roundhouse and turntable in Oroville.
2- The branch to south in Quincy Junction.
3- The F7 seems to be included in the route DLC
4- The WP freight cars and a caboose included.

And that only in the first 4 minutes of video. !*YAAA*!

Having skimmed through it, it appears the U30B recycled the sounds from the existing U36B DLC, including the inaccurate K5LA. !*roll-laugh*! But no worries, we all can manually change that and the engine sounds. Glad that they used the proper Leslie A200 from the GG1 DLC for the freight F7.

Or you could use the VRC U30B, with correct engine sounds and M5 horn such as the ones that WP was known to use.

Personal observation: if the Numbnuts had simply swallowed their pride and asked, they could have gotten the U30B from us in short order. But instead they just wanted sounds. I don't do parts and accessories.

Aliasing the sounds and physics definitely works! But one thing with the DTG model is that it features a proxyxml file structure that causes exterior sounds to be heard from the cab when opening windows using an additional proxyxml. They often tend to have separate proxys for the engine sounds and the air sounds.

It would be great if anyone is willing to take the initiative and release all the default DTG U30B scenarios with the VRC U30B swapped in place of all the DTG U30Bs.

I was there back in the day when these things were running up and down the Milwaukee and the C&NW and that GG1 horn does not sound like the real thing. Sorry.

The VRC U30B has excellent sounds, and you can always swap the power from DTG's scenarios with the superior model.

I just finished to look at the full video. It is an amazing route.
I don´t know, but I love the U30B sounds.
The route main line has 70 miles. The surprise is the extra 8 miles branch in Quincy going south (in direction to Reno), a totally different scenery. It is set for 1970.
So we got:
- The yellow grass prairies after departing Oroville.
- The River Canyon with the bridges, trestles (Keddie), the 2 dams, the hydropower house and much more.
- The green valleys south of Quincy Junction.
- Rocky textures similar to Soldier Summit
The winter textures have to be a show because snow is not common near Oroville and south Quincy.

The full route takes 3 hours to cross because much of the speed is 20 mph.
In my opinion the route is quite ready for steam scenarios.
The Content Manager seems to be the same that managed Soldier Summit.

Is the Quincy branch the line the Quincy railroad runs over?

It is west by southwest of Quincy Junction.
The map route at Quincy:

The branch I mean is the green route (and part of the blue).

the New Feather River Route and Keddie
i am Looking forward to this route so much i was born in a small town Just north of keddie in Plumas County in the Feather River canyon called Quincy and as a child i remember seeing the trains Coming and going around the keddie wye and along the High tracks of the canyon, this makes me Nostalgic to see this and this brings back lots of memories of a child watching the trains along the canyon and at the wye or as the locals call it the Greenville Wye. i have been back once or twice and each time i go my mind drifts back to the Sound of the horns echoing through the canyon and the rumble of the Diesel engines from Union pacific, a few western pacific and i even remember some Southern pacific and Burlington norhtern Routes. But alas im rambling i cant wait to run the FEF Locomotive on this route eventhough the Route is way to dangerous for passenger trains in real life Thanks so much Dovetail and Rail simulator for making this route.. i can not wait to Run on this route and to see what Addon rolling stock For it comes out
All aboard the Super Chief Bound for Los Angeles and all points east to Chicago
