Whats the problem with that. The pack is being sold for the price of a single route. In a marketing world that we live in the idea of doing it this way is too get more people involved in TS2015.

Hey, I think it's a great idea.

Now I have seen everything, getting three routes for the price of one and someone having an issue with that. Get a life, seriously, bigger issues in the real world.

Anyway, this route does look pretty interesting, cool to see n new route in a different era other than present day.

No complaints here, once it became clear that the routes would work as DLC with our existing copies of TS2015.

Griphos wrote:I watched the Twitch advanced preview yesterday where they ran one of Eliphaba's workshop scenarios for the upcoming route. The cliffs were amazing, but the rest of the scenery wasn't very good. The sage and chamiso vegetation trackside was very nice, and they have modeled quite passable Cottonwood trees, but the ground detail is quite simplistic. Just a lot of paint slapped around. Makes the vistas pretty bland when there isn't a cliff to look at.
Certainly didn't live up to all of these screenshots. Could it have been the settings on the machine used to stream?
Went from being an insta-buy to going on the wait for a sale list for me, or at least a wait for YouTube vids to review.

Yes, I'm sure it was operator error, I've seen this Steve drive on other routes on Twitch before and I don't think he is zooming in on his trains properly. When I place a train on the tracks I always zoom in and out using the arrows on my keyboard, this doesn't distort the ground textures as such, it looks as though he zooms in fully just using his mouse which does make all the surrounding area of the ground texturing very fuzzy when you look at it close up. I also think that that scenario created by Gary Dolzall was set in Autumn, sorry, Fall, for you guys, *!greengrin!* and the trees were a very funny shade of orange and red, I hope it doesn't look like that normally, time will tell, but, the cliff faces and the rest of the rocky infrastructure alone are worthy of obtaining the route, it looks errrrrrmm quite delicious. !!*ok*!!

And for those who don't have TS2015 they get that too plus the 3 routes for the price of one route.

I could use the Mannheim - Karlsruhe route along with the Soldier Summit route.
The price still hasn't been made public? Three routes for the price of one, or the price of a completely new Railworks game?

We'll probably know by thursday, *!!wink!!*

Its already stated in the article that the epic jouney's pack will be the same cost as just one route. 40 bucks.

"To celebrate the release of the highly-anticipated Soldier Summit, not only will you enjoy an epic journey through Utah but we’ve added two complimentary routes to take you on epic journeys through the heart of German and English countryside. So Soldier Summit won't be a stand-alone route, instead it will only be available in Train Simulator 2015: Epic Journeys Edition. However, this exclusive edition will be the same price as a single stand-alone route." - See more at: http://www.engine-driver.com/article/sh ... Ydr4l.dpuf

Twitch preview is up on YouTube: https://youtu.be/ZO9D0ieHxD0

Once I get this I (or BNSFDude if he gets to it) will try to update the SD40T-2 to use the EMD 40 Series Sound Replacement Pack (http://www.oovee.co.uk/forum/files/file ... ment-pack/), but with a Nathan M3 horn (http://railworksamerica.com/index.php/d ... =25:sounds) that most units sported.

I got a mention :D

Matt's revealed what I've been working on for the last several weeks ... the new, advanced brake scripting (and some tweaking of the associated sounds).

The new script is based on the FEF-3, but makes the brake physics even more advanced (in the proper meaning of the word, not the mis-use in "Advanced" Preview) than what I did for the FEF-3 and Connie, by improving considerably the simulation of the train brakes and auxiliary reservoirs. It also, of course, simulates the way the 26-L brake equipment works (instead of the older equipment in the steam locos). I hope to retrofit the more advanced physics into the FEF-3 and Connie when I have time (at the same time as I do some more small improvements to them both).

By the way, for my money, the FEF-3 still pips the SD40T-2 to the post as far as brakes are concerned, because the FEF-3 has the detailed animation of the brake rigging and the fact that bailing off the engine brakes does actually prevent wheel skid.

I'm beyond thrilled that a more advanced braking system is being developed. I bet they'll be better than the Canadian Mountain Passes brakes and will be implemented to all of DTG's new freight locos. :D
