Danny, please don't delete your route! I'm sure there will be an audience for both versions.

I want to apologize if my earlier post sounded like I was being in any way critical of your new route on the Workshop. That really was not my intention, actually it's quite the opposite: I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw it show up in the Workshop as the very first new submission for the Hi-Line.

Thanks for your upload! !*cheers*!

Cheers

Kris,
Is your merging work related to Danny´s Workshop merging, released a couple days ago, or it is something different?

If I may chime in here,

Kris' merged route is a seperate project that he has been working on for quite some time already. It will feature an almost completely new Marias Pass -- resignaled, with reassigned track types (concrete/wood ties where appropriate), changed and added lineside infrastructure, and the other scenery and visual improvements mentioned above.

Cheers!
Michael

Welcome to the RWA forum, Danny. You should find this a much better place than UKTS with a lot of friendly people who make you feel most welcome, unlike UKTS where there seems to be a lot of bitterness which I think is caused by a certain person. Perhaps Brexit has got to them. !*roll-laugh*! I have now left there and got my account removed. Anyway here is another of Dannys merged routes in the workshop not American though but Swiss. A couple of routes by Rivet games Bernina Pass - St. Moritz to Tirano https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/ ... 1922755878 You need to purchase the two routes off Steam if you don't already have them.

No worries because of this Searchlight Simulations upgrade, courtesy of Brandon Reardon on Facebook: http://www.mediafire.com/file/y4j5xyipk ... CdelCYVqSo

I made a copy of the HiLine folder and installed Brandon's update. I have the SS enhancements for the GP38 but now on the HUD the amps always read 000 with all throttle positions.

The mediafire download for conversion of the ESS44AC and GP 38 to Searchlight Simulations EMD 16 645E EP EP has the wrong GP38 script file and therefore it doesn´t work as it should . I have replaced it by the right one from my EMD 16 645E EP (GP38). If you have already installed this file, download the attached file in this post and just drop the zipped contents into your Railworks folder. It will replace the script of the same name (allow overwriting).

From now on you will need to set the loco status to Run using "I" key, before starting to move your GP38. !!howdy!!

Someone posted a sound update for the ES44DC and the GP38-2 for the Hi Line. I can't seem to find it. I thought it was in this thread. Can someone point me to it please? *!lol!*

Hi-Line (& Marias Pass) GN Backdating Announcement:

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a GN backdating kit for the Hi-Line and Marias Pass routes. This will be similar to the one that I created for Stevens Pass (the original, modern era route) and feature custom depot models modeled after historic photos, station and some other signs, and train order signals.

As with Stevens Pass, a template scenario will be provided which will have all the custom assets pre-placed and from which you can then copy the Scenery folder and NetworkProperties into your own scenarios for a quick and hassle-free setup of the new items. At first, this template scenario will exist only for the Hi-Line but eventually I also want to create one for Danny's or Kris's merged HiL/Marias routes.

This new backdating kit should be complete in early January. I'm announcing it in advance in case some of you are already working on GN/BN era scenarios for the new route.

Cheers!

Great news. :D We are talking of Steam locos here, or early diesels?
You will have to put all those abandoned smaller grain elevators to work and the passenger stations.

If you ignore the modern cars on US 2 and in the towns, the setting can be any time between the late steam era and BN days. Many of those depots and also some of the old GN siding (station) signs remained in place well into the 1980s/90s. It was only very recently that most or all of the old signals vanished. On some older Google Streetview images from the mid-2000s, I think one can still see some old GRS three-light signals along the Hi-Line (check out Shelby or Dunkirk, for example).

I imagine the GRS Ds stuck around for the most part until they needed to switch from code line to newer fiber optics for PTC to work. That was the case for my territory up until 2016 when they cut over.

Though, I'm not sure if the Hi-Line still had the Ds for control points or not, as in most places here, after the merger, BN management really seemed to like the Searchlight signals that NP was using.

You couldn´t be more right. Thank you, Michael.
In the last few days I have enjoyed your route so much. It is that kind of route that looks flat, but it isn´t. That has such amount of detail along the track and their objects, besides the so many grain elevator buildings, not found in any other route I have. And with a couple of outstanding Quick Drive scenarios which make me believe I am in a middle of a lot of action.
And above all that, yesterday, I installed Danny´s workshop merging with Marias Pass. I started it up with a run from Cutbank to Chester. What a pleasure! !*cheers*!

I found the message over at Facebook last night but forgot the name of person who wrote his message. Anyway here is his message below:

The only route you can do speeds excess of 70 mph on for the US is the Hi-Line. And WOW, it was fun! Lots of scenery everywhere. I highly suggest picking it up if it's your thing.

All engines are modified with Searchlight Simulations GEVO-12 compatibility, the skybox is AP, and the cars are from Searchlight as well.

Now one thing I am not sure what is about " the skybox is AP " Any idea about this?

Hopefully someone can explain about this.

Thank you,

John

If I had to guess, he's swapped out the default skybox and TimeOfDay folder for the ones that come with the Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack. If there is a screenshot, does the sky look like this: Image
If so, then that's almost certainly what he meant.

Thank you Matt and I forgot about this with that name -- Armstrong PowerHouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack. If I want to get those and have to purchase directly from them or can get at Steam?

Smile,
