I'll have to purchase the route then, young lady, as without knowing exactly how these folders and files are set up, I can't really help you immediately, I've now got the reskin and although the Read Me could have been better written, it does tell you to copy and paste the GeoPcDx file across from the original alias model to the repaint, so we can't put it down to that issue.

I'm in Britain, so, it's bedtime for me now, I'll have to attempt to sort this out tomorrow for you, if you can wait that long?

Hmmm, well, I put the repaint straight in and it works, so, we now know that it isn't a model problem. My only thought is how have you put the reskin folder into your Assets section folders, do you have these Folders sitting in your Railworks>Assets>DTG>CalTrain>Diesel folder, please?

If you've put the repaint folder INSIDE the Engine folder, then, it won't work, you have to have it OUTSIDE and you need to have all these files in the Engine Metrolink folder -

I can't think of anything else at the moment, I'll await your feedback. !!howdy!!

That's how mine is set up. The only thing I can think of is somewhere along the line my Blueprints pak seems to end up in the outer most file (the Cal Train folder) along with the Peninsula Assets folder and the Peninsula Assets ap file. But I've tried leaving there and I've tried placing it in just about every level of folder within the Caltrain file. nothing has worked so far. I think there was one time I even dumped the entire rail vehicles folder into the Metrolink engine folder, I think the result I got was the Standard paint scheme locomotive.

Did you use Utilities to install the reskin at all?

Thanks again.

No, I don't use the Utilities tool at all nowadays, as I'm an old veteran I find it quicker and easier to do all this copy and pasting manually, as I know how things are generally set up.
Let's start from scratch then, work with me, we'll get you sorted out don't worry, but, it might be best to do things manually, a bit of practice for when you want to put some more repaints in. Do you have any other reskins for anything else for this route, if you have, save them in another drive, or, onto your desktop, then move your folder with the reskin of Engine Metrolink in, and put that on your desktop, don't touch any of the files inside, OK, then delete everything in your CalTrain Folder, except the PeninsulaCorridorAssets.ap pack, so, in essence we'll start all over again and unpack it, using RW Tools, or, 7zip, and move it out of your Assets folder altogether when you've extracted the folder PeninsulaCorridorAssets, put the big file .ap pack on another drive, or, save it to a USB/HDD, etc, it's quite big 2.2GB, so, you don't want to lose it. You are now left with a PeninsulaCorridorAssets folder, manually extract all of the folders from inside this and put them outside, this leaves that folder empty then and you can delete it. Go into the RailVehicles Folder, inside are 3 other folders, Engine, GP38-2 and SW10, drop your Engine Metrolink folder from your desktop in here with the others, you've already got the GeoPcDx shape file in situ, so, you won't need to do anything else with that. Then come out of your Assets folders altogether, and you should then be able to go into your game and firstly, you want to 'clear the cache', I assume you know how to do that, and then afterwards go into the route and you should, fingers crossed, be able to see the MP36 diesel locomotives in both liveries.

That was the only reskin I had for the Peninsula Corridor so I am starting from scratch and have removed and reinstalled the route. I've also deleted all of the duplicate folders for the Metrolink reskin, leaving only the original un-zipped folder.

I forgot to add a couple of tips - I generally use my RW Tools to unzip these huge .ap packs, a) because it's quicker than any other method and b) it makes all the files inside read/write automatically.
I play this game virtually every day and often go into different layouts from various countries, after each 'session', I come out of the game altogether and clear the blueprints.pak's that have been automatically generated, before I go onto a different route, this gets rid of all the unwanted and unnecessary files before starting the game afresh, which might cause the game to crash if you don't get rid of them manually on a regular basis. I found the best way of doing that is by using your computer/laptop to go into your C: Drive, or, wherever you have your game installed, and type in the search engine blueprints.pak and it will find everything for you very quickly and you can then highlight the whole lot and delete them all in a matter of seconds, then you know that you have very little 'fluff' installed that might make the game unstable.

Have fun.
