By the way, I worked around the difficult train brakes by using the engine brake as much as possible and applying car brakes when necessary. The most difficult aspect of this scenario comes from the near impossibility of keeping an eye on the brakes while stopping in the right place to change a switch. A brakeman's view would sure be advantageous!

Alas!, there are no more "Standards" when it comes to scenarios included in RSC route packs. (Pun intended, of course.)
Alas!, this package includes only one locomotive, which is a "beaut", but a bit of a pain to drive due to the evidently more realistic train brakes.
The good news for switching fans like myself is that one of the included "Car-rear" scenarios involves switching -- very simple switching, but something other than "duh ... dwive dis twain fum heer ta der". Unfortunately, the presence of only one (quite powerful) engine in the package means using a draft horse to do a mule's work. Ah, yes! before I forget, one of the best pieces of news that I can offer about this route is that Foreman Dan Hernandez has not migrated north of the lower 48.
