Flashing ditch lights actually aren't a standard feature on all North American railroads. BNSF and Union Pacific don't use them:

But I think they are a standard feature on Norfolk Southern and CSX trains, so it would be great to see it implemented on them. Especially the existing Norfolk Southern locomotives we have.

2nd on that!

I would like some Narrow gauge content myself....but I think I'm biased. And NOT Rio Grande....let have some C&S stuff around!

ATSF, I already told him that. Lol so anyway I would want the term "scenario" to vanish. It should be "session" or something along those lines. Realistic dispatcher operations is key, unlike X simulator with most of the time, you have some doulbe dumbo goof in the seat of a dispatcher. "You want realism? Try being locked in a caboose for 2 hours doing paperwork!"

Take a look on the NS SD70 and ES44 Heritage packs......

My wishlist:

-Headlights that properly light up the landscape at night and in tunnels
-actual multiplayer where we can host servers (and admin them with easy and comprehensive tools) and gather several of our friends online at the same time-- some driving, shunting, dispatching etc.
-an ability to bind keys/key map. An ability to easily adjust the 'head-camera' position so I can actually see out the Perspex/window in any cab
-actual Track IR implementation...even race car sims use it...I'm sure there is a sewing sim that uses it too... !!howdy!!

Guys. Let's be clear on this. EVERY locomotive has ditch lights. It's just whether or not they flash that is the question here.

Could someone with the knowledge how to do it make a ditch lights child object that would cover up and block out the existing ditch lights and then would alternately flash for 15 seconds when ever the horn gets blown? Is that possible? I know that the RSC P42 has a switch on the engineer's console for flashing ditch lights. So I know that RW can simulate the flashing ditch lights. And furthermore, I have been told that both CSX and NS locos should all have flashing ditch lights when the horn is blown.

@ Leaf
I have to agree with you that TrackIR support is essential for in-cab realism. Mousing around the cab just does not give the proper immersion factor.

Never heard of trackir. Kinda interesting, would make running a steamer more ergonomic, if there is such a thing....

TrackIR is brilliant! I use it in Flight Simulator with 6 degrees of freedom. If they allowed that in RW, it would also mean that the cab views would have to be even more detailed because you'd be able to lean forwards and move sideways to see around things.

For my **!!2cents!!** , I would just like to ask for better intelligence in the AI - there should be nothing that an AI consist can not do - if you can script it in the editor, then anything should be possible, including making up and breaking up train consists for use by other AI or the player. That would be great.

As for multiplayer - a huge big meh!! Is of absolutely no interest if the AI is up to snuff.

Some more steam age assets would be nice - people and asset packs (water facilities / coal stages / stations / buildings etc)

!*cheers*!

But remember that's only a select few locomotives that represent a very small number of their overall fleet. For the most part flashing ditchlights are not a standard feature for BNSF and UP locomotives.

All of SP's units that had ditchlights had Flashing Ditchlights. Only a select few of BNs units (SD40-2s and SD70MACs) had flashing ditchlights.

Well, not all of them, EMD F7 don't have ditch lights. As well, my EMC E1 model won't have ditch lights.
