BNSFdude wrote:...Charging Rate: 4.3psi/sec

and some details about bailing too, but that stuff is core so it couldn't be implemented right away.
I also maid it clear as to how a train recharges its brakes. The EQ reservoir is actuated from and the Brake pipe follows.
When charging back to 90psi, it takes the air from the M.R immediately. Most locomotives are set to charge back up at 130PSI and the "Control" switch on a control stand actuates the compressor unloader...

Does this mean that we have a compressor which won't fill the brake pipe in a second? Finally!? It did always bug me how fast the brake pipe would fill... You could never actually apply and release fast enough to drain it of all it's pressure.

I've already wrecked. Darn physic fixes !**duh*!! But 15psi in just a couple of inches moving the handle seems a tad bit much. I thought the general rule was about 8psi of application.

Nope. Its completely variable up to the max application pressure. It starts at 6PSI reduction all the way down to a 90lb.

Yep, I'm convinced they've got it close to nailed right on the money with this route. !!*ok*!!

I've had a few moments of sheer terror. If I step away from the computer to get something to drink and realize I might have missed a signal. Or if I see a switch that isnt lined right. Cause that MATTERS now!! You cant dump 20lbs of air and stop a mile long train in 400 feet anymore ! !*roll-laugh*!

The focus on train handling is there. I just LOVE the feeling when I start pulling a heavy train...progressively open the throttle to Run 8 (ahem...notch 8) and watch the realistic accelleration. Mixing dynamics and air on a downhill to maintain speed. Its great.

I can honestly say, never have I had this much immersion and fun in Railworks. Bravo RSC (and all those involved - BNSFdude, etc), you've done it. Now, keep it up.

I hope I don't under-estimate anything, that will be the big problem, cruddy physics by comparison will be throwing me off! !*hp*! At least the physics are good, even if it's "too good." *!!wink!!*

I bought both Marias Pass and Sherman Hill thinking They were like real railroads, in that they had rolling stock from all railroads or generic stock that could be re-painted, but alas, they only have their parent road's rolling stock...Sure wish someone would paint some rolling stock for these two. Just not realistic having only the rolling stock of the parent road...Not only rolling stock, but engines as well. Today, I saw a UP train pass through here with NS, CN and UP engines. Otherwise, I like both...

It isn't too good until you start having people yell at you for slack action. !*roll-laugh*!

That's not a problem with the route but with the scenarios that came with it.
Using the 3rd-party program RW-Tools, it is easy to swap engines and cars in scenarios.

Michael at Golden age has tons of stock you can use to add all the realism your heart could desire.

OK, Chacal and Griphos(SP?). I am not a computer Guru. I don't know how to bring other rolling stock into these two routes unless someone makes it specifically for them in zip or 7z file that I can download.

That's not gonna happen. You don't need to be a computer guru, but you do have to do a bit of looking around, reading and experimenting about Railworks and its content. The upside is greater freedom of enjoyment of this hobby. It's up to you to decide if it's worth the effort.

People in this community will provide help within reason but won't do it for you.

Finally picked this one up and must say I agree completely with the original poster. Certainly sets the bar for future releases- very well done boys. Thoroughly enjoying this route, and for someone who doesn't go in much for switching scenarios...well I've been hooked. !*cheers*!

Hi All

I have just completed my 6th Scenario - Some came with the Route and some from the Workshop and I must say the Route and the Scenarios are superb.

Now on to my 7th Scenario - I am really "Hooked" with this Route.

Regards

Mike
