Yes I think you are correct in your observation. This is a model of a Dash-2 Blomberg truck with single brake shoes and a dampening strut on one of the axles.

Are the two middle windows correct? Almost every photo I've seen of a GP20 has a single large window rather than 2 small ones - the only exceptions I've seen are some of the ATSF units in later life

Hello Guys, you are right, the GP20 ATSF is the unique version with a divided windscreen. Once I have the whole basic structure finished I will do the proper touches to fix each version. For now, I am using only one model for all liveries.

Thanks.

I want take advantage of this thread to make some questions when I have a doubt about the loco, for example.

I have seen some images of the air gauges in the cab and I realized that this loco only has gauges for Main Reservoir and Brake Cylinder pressures. I haven't see the typical red needles for Equalized and Air Pipe pressures. Seems like these old models didn't consider those values, at least, to show them in the gauges.

See the image attached.

I will be greatful with any word about it.

Thanks again.

Is there a shot of the whole control stand by any chance? Even our 1939 SW1 has dual needle Air gauges in it. :/

I googled it and found this. I can clearly see a red needle on the left one but I don't see one on the others.

Hi Ricardo,

There's a link here to the first few pages of the operating manual for the GP-20, with lots of technical data. I suppose what you really need is the complete manual!

http://www.trainweb.org/WPRRINFO/EMDGP20ManualCover.html

There are also some cab ride videos on YouTube, such as: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0tAOd1bs9Do

Saludos,

If I recall my 2nd Diesel Spotters Guide from memory, the GP20 was EMD's first foray into the turbocharged 567 engine.

Are the GP20's characterized by a turbocharger bulge in the side of their hood or was this detail found only in some phase or road?

I would love to know where he gets his drawings from..
