I wasn't impressed with any of the horns on any of the Sherman Hill locos, they sound too "digital" not that great, but I do !*drool*! on my laptop whenever that CSX K5LA by an airliner *!!wink!!* sounds when I'm at the summit *!lol!*

Now we need Horseshoe Curve to be modernized and extended east to Washingtonville where the coal powerplant is, and maybe west to a coal mine (not sure how far away it is, the only way I know that is from Extreme Trains [not far from Pittsburgh I think !**conf**!] )

I wasn't a fan of how my K5HLB turned out either. *!sad!* it sounds great in person, perhaps I'll give her a clearer recording with my new shotgun mic. You guys should like the new horns on these puppies though. !!*ok*!!

I was kinda hoping they would also do the remaining UP heritage units as well. The Rio Grande is all we got. Are there any 3rd party or freeware ones around?

I think there are some in the RW2 of the File Library.

Thanks! I found it! I had seen it before and forgot it cuz the included thumbnail picture just reminded me that I've seen it before. I didn't have the SD70ACe pack that the time is why i didn't DL it. The pack wasn't for sale for awhile as it was getting upgraded to 2013 standards.

I wonder how many of them they will sell since this has already been done for free. And quite nicely I might add.

Well said Buzz, mind you, RSC don't know what 3rd party developers/reskinners are doing, 'cos they never look outside of their cozy offices. They'll be planning an Alco diesel loco next, with all the hoopla advertising, mega hype and dozens of screenshots, when we've had Britkits' offering for the last 2 years and the German made one recently released and another one on the way to being built, they never learn..... !*roll-laugh*!

While I don't post like I use to, I still follow many projects and peoples progress.
There are a few 3rd parties and guys around the forums that do what they do because I taught them how to and there is nothing better than seeing the apprentice become a master. :) (There are a few on this forum and UKTS who have taught me a thing or 2 also, for that thank you)

3rd party products (free or payware) that are not officially affiliated don't stop RS.com creating what they feel they and their customers need or want.
However it goes both ways, RS.com don't mind anyone else making what they want/need either.
I find it interesting that because there is a version of something a few feel RS.com should not do it.
Do you think Hornby think that way about Bachman or Lima? Either way an interesting discussion.
But seeing as this is RS.com's software I'd say they are pretty free to make whatever they want.

If 3rd parties do want to avoid duplication then contact RS.com and ask about the partnership program.
RS.com are providing choice, they don't expect everyone to buy everything they create, but having a wide selection of products is far better than having only a small selection of products.
5 years from now I expect them to have a pretty impressive catalog covering many different countries.

best regards

Derek

Everything you say is true. After I made that post I was thinking a lot of people probably never look any farther than at your products so maybe you'll sell a lot of them. I assume you will find out soon and good luck to you all. Those re-paints that were done were of a very high quality. That's the only reason I even thought of it and as you may or may not know I buy almost everything of American content that you put out. It certainly follows that if someone sees a third party re-paint of one of your DLC's and they like it a lot that they are going to go buy your DLC so they can use it.
Thanks for jumping in here.

Random but; Since there are no current RSC made Norfolk Southern routes(HSC dosn't count since it's pre-conrail) What scenarios will be included with this pack?? Would they be "what ifs" on Sherman Hill and/or Marias Pass or would RSC just go with HSC?

I would say that they are going to be 99.9% probably on HSC. Its what they have done with other loco scenarios so why not with more?
