I agree that Martin doesn’t owe anything to non-customers, but he may want to share the news publicly in some form so that potential buyers know that what they see in reviews may not be the actual product being sold. That’s just my 2¢.

Kindof tiring at this point but what can ya do.

Ignore them perhaps?

I see nothing wrong in polite criticism about a product not meeting accepted standards. It provides needed feedback to those developers. This helps to provide for further product improvements and raising the quality for everyone. In providing a product one needs to develop a thicker skin and take criticism and not take it personal. Staying stagnant in this hobby should not be an option. It is hard to backtrack from first impressions. It would be wise to notify everyone possible via posts on Facebook TSC and other TSC groups that this was a mistake and has been rectified. A lot more people now have a negative view than those who purchased the product. Sending emails to those who purchased may not be enough to save a damaged reputation. As far as freeware goes I am not that critical, I can take it or leave it, use it not, I accept it for what it is. If I pay for something with my meager funds I expect a certain standard. This has been an unfortunate error that should have been caught. I do hope for their sake that this does not damage their brand. I own several of their products and am quite satisfied.

Maybe you've offered 'polite criticism' but let's be real here. That isnt what happens.
Often times people use the term 'criticism' as a safeguard to be a ungrateful person. I follow most creators for this game to keep up in what i can look forward to and I see more of this negativity than i do positivity and we continue to pass the negativity off as criticism. It's not. DTM is a perfect example. Alot of people are quick to bash the work, but i can assure you not one of those people reached out to him to correct it. Why?

I always see this with DTM and its really unfortunate that people bash his products without seeing it for themselves. These people take detailing, painting, and other very small stuff (like incorrect computer screen) to the extreme. I do not know why people set the standard so high. I do hope most realize the higher you set the standard the more it will cost, not just money, but the motive for people to create content.

Seems he's working on some new ones.

Could somebody inform him that his truck model is missing the hangers? This is just a really noticeable issue that I hope should be corrected, as it was also missing on the engines from his original pack. They're a pretty vital part of the actual trucks irl, if they weren't there the whole truck would fall apart! lol.

I understand that (unless you are just saying to clarify for others), as IC nor the rock ever had GP40-2s.

The only other real gripe of mine (outside of small little things that aren't worth sharing), is just there are really no proper routes to run either of these on.

I was - the only GP40s we have currently are the very old G-Trax so a new version is welcome. Incidentally I have passed on your comment to TBT.

Appreciate it. VRC did have a few standard GP40s mixed in with some of the GP40-2 packs, but we all know what happened to them.

I probably won't buy these, still have some interest in them but I've been told by someone who has them that some of the proportions are off. Engine sounds aren't much of any good and aren't from a GP40 (rather a GP35 which has a slightly different sound), and the horn sounds are y'know, doesn't matter much for me since I usually just swap out most of my engine and horn sounds.

Someone? I have the VRC model and TBT model lined up beside each other and I'll be darned if I can see any differences.

Just someone I know. They compared the models to diagrams from EMD manuals they own and such. He thought the rest of the model was just okay though.

Going back to the GP40s, I kinda hope he'll do some other roadnames, like RF&P, DRGW, CN, and MP yellow units. Just curious to see how they'd turn out.

Gotta be honest, i think myself and a vast majority of TSC players play the sim just because we like trains. If it were realism I think there are better options out there. I buy products from everyone in this sim from DTM and TBT to SS and EYEIN and to me they are all good because trains. that's it. Nothing to do with sounds or if bugs splat on the window as I'm driving. Just trains. **!!2cents!!**

No offense but how is it second hand information if he looked at manuals from the company that built the real thing?
I’m not trying to turn this into anything, but I’m basically taking that as an insult toward him.

Would you mind showing? I’m just curious to see, I wouldn’t be doubting since I know you actually own both of them.
