In regards to the GP40X, I hope they plan to do a SP version... with the elephant ear radiator air intakes being a child object.

I take it that you have no interest in my advice?

Is there a prize for complaining? Is there a special prize for complaining in advance?

Patience is a virtue or am I just an old fart that learned to read over 65 years ago and have (like riding a bike) never lost the knack?

Of my two quotes below my name I actually prefer the second but the first one is sure true. "Some people find fault like there's a reward for it."- Zig Ziglar

I knew a fellow electrical engineer who commented when an inspector visited that the inspector could find fault with a cookie!
Maybe the site has a few “inspectors”.

I actually find that quote to be wrong.

There actually IS reward for finding fault. It has various titles: Good QA, Bug fixes, Patches, Beta Testing, ETC...

In fact the very premise of "Beta Testing" is to find fault so it can get fixed. If we apply the logic of Ziggies quote then that pretty much downplays Beta Testing as a whole, which leads to bugs that went unnoticed and bad QA because the QA team has nothing to go off of.

I prefer a quote from our very own mindenjohn: "If we all wait for perfection we will never do anything. It doesn’t hurt to ask for it though."

It's 2019, producers should be evolving to meet better criteria than to just continually put out mediocre content.

Why is the scaling still wrong when you have a good source for scaling reference from trainiax?

Why is there absolutely zero normal maps or AO bake?

It's stuff like that that drives me nuts, and will steer me away from buying or running anything other than our stuff or things like Reppos E33, Smokebox's steam for the NA market.

Enough. We know what you think. No one forces anyone to buy anything. You guys can't even keep your web page on line so I hope you get it that no one is perfect. People can decide for themsrlves what to buy and what not to buy and your constant hectoring about things that don't meet your standards is not doing much at this point except annoying a lot of people who are polite enough not to complain in public so with all due respect please knock it off.

Ah, so fairly critiquing things like I did above is no longer acceptable and I am only to either shut up or sing praises is it?
Surely you understand I am not the only one who has done such in this thread or others. You, yourself voiced your critique on the Signals and lighting in another thread, but that's acceptable right?

No one is perfect, but there is always room for improvement, and you'll never get there if you can't see the forest for the trees. Having people openly state things that are incorrect or could be improved upon is how someone gets better.

I fully understand this is still in development, but there is definitely a lot of room for improvement on the model. Fortunately, textures can be redone by the community. I personally think a new plow would be great on it. If it doesn't get one, that's fine; I can only hope the plow is a node.

In regards to various above comments about the role of "beta testing" (via this forum) and general critique:

I would suggest, constructive criticism (e.g., beta testing) includes:

- Stating, specifically and factually, the problem or issue.
- When applicable or possible, suggesting a specific solution/fix.
- Doing so in a civil tone and form.
- Contacting the developer directly when feasible.

Being an effective contributor to solutions does not include:
- Being cynical, snide, insulting, and/or self-aggrandizing in the process
- Suggesting in vague terms the work/product is "garbage" or the like
- Repeating and hectoring on the same topic

Now, perhaps, back to the actual topic of this thread ....

Y'all in notch 8 on this post! !*roll-laugh*!

But in all seriousness, please message the creator about the errors that have been made and/or ask questions about the product. Stuff like this (what's currently going on in this forum) does affect the creator decision on rather to continue or not.
